Quote:
Two powerful cinematic icons – Marlon Brando as an undercover saboteur and Yul Brynner as a conflicted German captain – add stature and complexity to this thoughtful and gripping yarn of World War II espionage aboard a Nazi freighter with precious cargo that may or may not be destined for a tragic fate. “Brando and Brynner both give strong performances, complementing each other’s role like two sides of the same coin. The psychological theme of divided loyalties is well-handled. A handsome looking film” (The Motion Picture Guide) of rattling suspense sails onto hi-def Blu-ray, earmarked by Oscar®-nominated Conrad Hall cinematography and a superb Jerry Goldsmith score.

New on hi-def Blu-ray in a stunning 4K restoration: “A unique and often overlooked ‘adult’ Western that goes much deeper than most movies in this genre” (The Motion Picture Guide), headlined by stellar talent and masterfully helmed by Edward Dmytryk (Broken Lance), wherein “the stage is set for an inevitable clash between legal justice [Richard Widmark] and sanctioned lawlessness [Henry Fonda]” (Great Hollywood Westerns). Anthony Quinn, Dorothy Malone, Dolores Michaels, Wallace Ford, Tom Drake, Whit Bissell, DeForest Kelley and Frank Gorshin also star in this Cinemascope beauty, adapted by Robert Alan Aurthur from Oakley Hall’s 1958 Pulitzer Prize-finalist novel.

Can't wait for Baby the Rain Must Fall. Really enjoyed that one when I caught it on TCM last summer.

Directed by Edward Dmytrk, in his film debut as a director (The Young Lions, The Caine Mutiny, Raintree County, Mirage, Broken Lance, Till the End of Time, Crossfire, and Murder, My Sweet).
Just me being nit-picky, and perhaps I am just reading your post incorrectly, but Warlock was definitely not Dmytryk's "film debut as a director" and you do list a number of his prior directing credits so, as I said, maybe I just misunderstood that line.

So does you think Twilight Time will release more films post 1980 in the near future? Sure there is a title here and there, but it seems like they have stuck to a lot of older films recently.

Me too - I definitely want Warlock without question. Bandolero is one I haven't seen actually (I'm ashamed to admit), but a western with Dean Martin and George Kennedy makes it very tempting for me.

Ordering Warlock on Twilight Time site where it is available now. Interestingly, Screen Archives Entertainment still does not show Warlock as available for order. Unlike the TT site, you can add to a wishlist but not to your cart at this time.
