At this point, I have purchased only two titles from SAE; Man From Laramie and Journey to the Center of the Earth but I plan to get more. Both were shipped within a reasonable time after the order was submitted and both arrived in packaging that protected the material very well. I tend to cut a small company some slack when it comes to response time as they have fewer employees and limited resources. Also, I will always support the smaller companies (or what has come to be called "mom and pop" operations and I encourage others to do so as well. We have all seen what happens to an industry when the big giants force the "mom and pop" companies out of business.

It's not a big deal (I've got a box of replacement Elites), but when did TT switch over to the cheapo 'big-font' cases that Olive use?

About a year ago. Their manufacturer started putting them in Eco elites, people complained so they had to go with those olive style cases "from China".

Just my opinion, but having to wait a few extra days due to reasonable circumstances (processing large # of orders from there sale) is the urban dictionary definition of "first world problems."

You won't be cancelling your order. If you do, then you don't want the movie.

It has said all along on their website (I copied and pasted direct from their website and it's written in upper case): PLEASE WAIT FOUR TO SIX WEEKS TO INQUIRE ABOUT ORDERS NOT RECEIVED

I placed 4 orders in this sale (my first ever orders with SAE/TT), have only received the 1st one. One order has the Zardoz pre-order. Going in I knew they were a smaller company (and I had seen their suggestion to wait 4-6 weeks wait before contacting them), so I assumed they might well take some time to ship out so I'm not at all worried or frustrated. They'll get here in time.

Just received an order to the UK yesterday. Obviously I have to wait a bit longer than you folks in the States for my orders, but when they're packaged as fantastic as they are it doesn't bother me a bit. Feels just that bit more personal too as they obviously take their time with the packing to ensure the items arrive in pristine condition.

There are some wonderful, interesting contributions from actor Darryl Hickman on the commentary track (with Richard Schickel) on Leave Her To Heaven. His criticisms of Gene Tierney's acting--and the reasons for it--are noteworthy.

However my copy of the more recent 'The Bride Wore Black' did come in an eco case which I immediately switched out. I'm assuming its because it was a 2-disc set and those were the only double cases they had in stock

Not that they're guaranteed to arrive in pristine condition, whatever the packaging. The shipment I got today was in a box, the eight discs enclosed in two bubble-packs, the rest of the box filled with styrofoam peanuts. One of the discs still had a broken booklet clip. My copy of U-Turn in my previous order (also in a box) had something broken in the case as well.

Not that I'm complaining; stuff like this happens. I'm just sayin'...

Personally, I thought Hickman came off like a stupid, self-centered jerk on the Leave Her to Heaven commentary. He may not have realized it at the time, but all these years later, he should certainly know after the fact that during the shoot (filming took place in early-to-mid 1945 and the film was released on Christmas Day that same year), Miss Tierney was grappling with the final confirmation that her baby daughter Daria, born in October 1943, was mentally enfeebled and would have to be permanently institutionalized. His lack of pity and compassion for Tierney, and his own self-involvement, did not (and do not) speak well of him at all.

Despite the trauma she was going through in her private life, Tierney gave an iconic, Oscar-nominated performance that has not only withstood the test of time, it has grown both in stature and reputation. Hickman's performance in a key supporting role is notable only because of its importance to the plot, rather than anything he brought to it; more than one critic suggested that he made Danny such an obnoxious interloper that his ultimate fate was more a relief than a tragedy. I agree wholeheartedly.

I have a question I just looked right now and the processing on my bank account is gone and looks like the money was put back into my bank account. I looked at the Twilight Time site and my order still says pending. So what happened, should I be worried did they cancel my order with out letting me know?

Don't worry. They only put a hold on your credit card and it probably expired because they are backed up on shipping. They will catch up and your order will be delivered. You can pretty much count on that.

10 releases? Can that be right? If so that's tremendous, but a couple of those titles I don't see as being too successful.

Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, Baker Boys, Places in the Heart could be popular.
