Just wanted to ask:
for a person that is living in Europe, what is the best option to buy TT Blurays: SAE or TT's site?
I've been using SAE so far.
I see the prices with shipping are the same now!

I guess the pre-orders ship earlier from TT's site?
And what about generally the amount of time that it takes from the moment a package is shipped?
Have you seen the packages coming faster when using TT site comparing to SAE?
(it took around 10 days to reach my country from SAE)

I'm buying it mostly to be a Carpenter completest, to be honest.

I didn't think TT shipped internationally? I went through SAE for 10 to Midnight. Wish I had known...

I don't know about Europe but just be aware that to Canada TT puts the full retail value on the customs label while SAE does not. I got dinged $35 the one time I ordered from TT

I import to UK using SAE. Wasn't aware TT shipped outside US? Never had a Lost, damaged or problem with SAE and never paid anymore then the cost of the movie and shipping.

Yeah, me too.
The only thing is that they always seems to be shipping after a few days since my order.
And I was wondering if TT were quicker in that.

Just got the TT package to Japan, but TT only put $5 per disc ($15 for 3 Blu) + $2 for replacement cases ($12 for 6 cases), and the total was $27 on the custom form.

$5 per disc was the same as SAE, so I'm quite happy about that.

My order was back when TT first launched; a 6-disc parcel. Maybe they changed their policy since then but not going to take a chance. Besides I'm happy with SAE, if anything they might take a couple of days longer than TT to ship no big deal

I've never got dinged at the door for more $$$ when ordering from SAE. I received 3 discs a couple of weeks ago and another 2 the other day.

Sorry if this has been covered, but I looked on the site and cannot find this info. If I pre-order directly through Twilight Time's site, do I get charged at order time or at shipping?

If you use a credit card, you will be charged as soon as manufacturing is complete and the title begins to ship.

Unfortunately, PayPal customers are charged immediately. We have had some major problems with PayPal not honoring authorizations and payments, so we aren't able to offer that option anymore.

We're sorry about the trouble you had with your earlier order.

The fact is, we simply missed this in our preparations for launch, and once you notified us of the problem, we made a change so that all shipments now show the appropriate value per disc to avoid customs fees. Any Blu-ray will be shown at a value of $5 per disc on the declaration forms.

If you use Pay After Delivery from PayPal, it will charge you 2 weeks later.

For those who are interested, my order including Vampires just shipped from SAE. Looks like these are going out now.

Release day has arrived.

Sad news. Maureen O'Hara, leading lady in so many great classic films, has passed. I recall seeing her onscreen for the first time when I was a kid, starring in John Wayne's 1971 western Big Jake. I have always remembered the red-haired beauty from that film who played his wife. In all the years since, in films including The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1939), The Quiet Man, Miracle on 34th Street (1947), McLintock!, Mr. Hobbs Takes a Vacation, and the wonderful How Green Was My Valley, in cinema as well as in life, she was always the model of class, grace, and ageless beauty. One of my favorite actresses from the time I first started watching movies.

Knowing she is gone, and that she has been a part of my entire life, the world feels emptier today. RIP.

Quote:
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. – Actress Maureen O'Hara, the Irish beauty who appeared in such classic films as "The Quiet Man" and "How Green Was My Valley," has died.

Her manager, Johnny Nicoletti, says O'Hara died in her sleep Saturday at her home in Boise, Idaho. She was 95.

O'Hara came to Hollywood to star in 1939's "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" and went on to a long career. "How Green Was My Valley," a touching 1941 drama about a Welsh mining family, won five Oscars including best picture.

She became John Wayne's favorite leading lady, appearing with him in "The Quiet Man" and other films. And she was little Natalie Wood's mother in the Christmas classic "Miracle on 34th Street."

She's survived by a daughter in Ireland.

Sad news indeed about Maureen O'Hara. I've really developed quite an appreciation for her over the past few years, as I've collected several Blu-rays of her movies.

I most recently watched her in Mr. Hobbs Takes a Vacation, which is an underrated Twilight Time title.
