I'll go the cheap route, thanks
Just wish it was region B

Based on this:
http://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?a=1&d1...=1&x=678&y=214

I think it's fair to say that the UK version of The Innocents (1961) also bests the Criterion Collection edition

No, because the UK is horizontally stretched.

Other than for the cropped image, the UK wins on pure PQ. Criterion seems to be generally so overhyped IMO

Well, Criterion does make the best extras around, so that part of the hype is true. I really hope they hire better compressionists- maybe outsource projects to Fidelity in Motion?

I have to disagree here since the UK is so badly stretched.

Just wish there was a region B at least equal to the Criterion edition

To use and exploit my modded player's capabilities. Working on a 'Region B only' bluray shelf as we speak, so I am on a hunt for region B movies.

Get Arrow Video's release of "The Fury." It blows the pants off the US release.

Would love it if someone who owns it would update the site's listing for the German release of Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (especially with a picture of the back cover showing the regions). The List shows this as Region Free, as do several eBay sellers; however the site still shows "Region B (C untested)". The picture would help, even if you just send me one, because Amazon DE won't ship this to the US because they think it's Region B. Apparently they've gotten burned by too many Region B returns from the US.

Not sure how much of an upgrade the PQ is from the US version but I'd like to find out - and eBay sellers are way more expensive than Amazon DE (haven't found any better alternatives). So, if the list is right, it'd be great to get the site right and, with a picture, I'd be able to continue to engage with Amazon. Thanks for any help.

I buy region b locked stuff from Amazon all the time. Sure you're not dealing with a third-party seller?

Yes, not my first rodeo. Never run into quite this problem before [https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00PXJI18G/[/url].

There was a bit of ambiguity in their response (following is only a small portion-toward the end they recommended I check the marketplace where "dealers who sell their products on Amazon Marketplace may have their own delivery restrictions. This means that you may be able to purchase this item from one of our Marketplace partners."):

"I understand that you would like to order several Blu-rays. The Blu-ray “Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow” is unfortunately only for the market in the region B/2. The United States is in region 1, which means that we unfortunately cannot ship this specific product to the US.

At present, guarantee restrictions and legal import/export provisions mean that we are unable to deliver all products to countries outside Germany. There may also be technical or licensing reasons why we are unable to deliver a product to a particular country."

I just received One Million Years B.C., The Flight of the Phoenix, and Mississippi Burning from Amazon UK and they are all region B locked.

Amazon.de had a similar issue for me with many titles including TC2000, Punisher media book, some CDs, and Justified final season. Justified eventually became available to ship to the US. Its funny because others on here had ordered and confirmed it was lossless audio. Amazon.uk did similar with House MD box set and Police Academy from what i remember.
Check back frequently, i think its an error or something (No proof) because eventually, amazon did ship all of those items to me aside for TC2000. Korn's last album with a bonus track wouldnt ship for a while from the UK. Its currently on the way, but i checked on it numerous times before it finally came up without error.

Yeah, it's a mystery to me. I've often had marketplace items verboden, but not stuff from Amazon. If I knew it was a big PQ uptick, I might pay the extra freight and buy it elsewhere, but I'll keep checking back. Thanks for the tip.
