It makes no real sense with regard to the drawing, other than vampires and the occasional hotel, but I would party hard if Criterion announced a Blu-ray of Near Dark (1987).

That would explain people seeing him in all sorts of places after he died.
By the by, Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse novels (the basis for the series True Blood) has a recurring vampire character named Bubba who it's implied is Elvis. He's not completely with it in the head, and gets passed around the vampire community, being taken care of by other vamps who were fans of his. The backstory is that the attendant at the morgue where Elvis was taken was a vampire and realized that there was still a spark of life in him, so he decided to make him a vampire. |
