It makes no real sense with regard to the drawing, other than vampires and the occasional hotel, but I would party hard if Criterion announced a Blu-ray of Near Dark (1987).

If this wasn't Criterion, Hotel Transylvania would totally make the most sense

Because it will justify my lack of a purchase thus far.

Just saw Two Days, One Night and really disliked it.

Spoilers below:

[Show spoiler]The plot was completely unbelievable. A company would never pit it's workers against another worker. This is the film's way of trying to manipulate your emotions by way of a silly plot device. Aside from that, the film only has two scenes. One is a scene where a worker says "I need my bonus" and another is where a worker decides to support her. Repeat this for 90 minutes. This film is also the victim of the modern handheld curse where the entire movie is shot handheld. Will this ever go away? I'm tired of it. I also didn't care for the anti-capitalist message on display here. Too much "realist". Too much "naturalist". Not enough cinema. Not enough style.

My immediate gut reaction was (and I know it's not it) Leaving Las Vegas.

The hotel sign, the neon style, food (or drink) at the mouth, desperate eyes, someone's leaving - so there's a vacancy... dunno.

I noticed that Criterion released the theatrical cut originally on laserdisc. What do you think the chances are that they regain the license/rights to release this on blu-ray?

I'm guessing Warner Bros. is keeping a short leash on this one, since its a catalog title.
More specifically, the Criterion LD features the International Theatrical Release, rather than the American Theatrical Release. The Criterion edition was also the first time the film was available on home video in its proper aspect ratio.

Anyway, yeah, Warner has got the rights locked up. To be honest, the current 5-version Blu-ray is so comprehensive that I don't see any point to Criterion doing anything further with the title.

I think it's Let the Right One In. Only thing that makes sense IMO taking into account all aspects of the drawing.

Maybe it's a double feature of Let the Right One In and Only Lovers Left Alive.

By the by, Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse novels (the basis for the series True Blood) has a recurring vampire character named Bubba who it's implied is Elvis. He's not completely with it in the head, and gets passed around the vampire community, being taken care of by other vamps who were fans of his. The backstory is that the attendant at the morgue where Elvis was taken was a vampire and realized that there was still a spark of life in him, so he decided to make him a vampire.
