No, he just said it was a new scan. The DVD was from an SD master and he was talking about getting Robert Harris' opinion about the aspect ratio for the new scan (Universal's documentation has it being 2:1, but Harris told him to ignore them, that it should be 1.85.)

Sweet. That's good news in terms of an upgrade title. Hopefully more titles will be revealed during these podcasts.

I received a smashed Criterion from the Target sale as well, ended up doing a replacement through Target. They give you a shipping label to print out.

I know this is a Blu-ray forum, but here’s a good question for everyone.

Not including the Eclipse series, what are some Criterion DVD-only titles that remain the best English friendly version available?

This can be for bonus materials too if something particularly good got lost in an upgrade or newer release from another label.

Finished listening to all 5 that have been posted and didn't catch any other upcoming titles.

If you've like Japanese cinema, I recommend the Rebel Samurai set.

I am surprisingly caught up on most of my wish list titles from 2008 forward. Other than some boxsets and a few stragglers; I’m pretty well done. This time around I’ll get:

Identification of a Woman
Traffic
Crash
The Ascent

The only fly in the ointment might be the WAC 4 for $44 sale. I’m at the other end of the spectrum with wish list titles with them. At last count I had over 50 titles remaining there.

Working on a list right now. Having a hard time narrowing it down this time. So far though:

Polyester
The Apu Trilogy
Trilogy of Life
Valerie and Her Week of Wonders
Robinson Crusoe on Mars
Carnival of Souls
Meantime
Wildlife
Day for Night
Mouchette (upgrade)
Paris Belongs to Us
The Rules of the Game
Varda
Fellini
Olympics

I can't decide!!

Green for Danger - The blu-ray from Network is rather filtered and misses the audio commentary, interview and print extras from the Criterion DVD.
A Canterbury Tale does not so far have a BD release and I haven't heard of it being worked on so far.
From the Hiroshi Teshigahara boxset, only Woman in the Dunes has received a BD. Pitfall is a lesser film IMO, but Face of Another is excellent.

Yeah, I would guess Lingua Franca will be released by Criterion.

This is obviously open to interpretation, but this is what she replied when someone inquired about Criterion releasing it.

So more Netflix films coming from Criterion. I'm pretty sure we are getting Mank and Da Five Bloods, but still want The Ballad of Buster Scruggs more than anything.

I want Hush, although it doesn't really seem like the sort of thing Criterion would release.

Beasts of No Nation and Meyerowitz Stories are the two Netflix’s I most want!

Meyerowitz Stories would be great, and I'm pretty sure it will happen eventually because it seems like Noah Baumbach has a special spot in his heart for Criterion.

I would’ve thought they would’ve announced it at the same time with Marriage Story.

Can you use multiple gift certificates on the same order? I think I've got 3.

That would have made sense, but Criterion likes to space things out and they might not have acquired it. It seems like their deal has been successful, so this is a title that makes a lot of sense for them to release. I'm pretty confident it will happen, but when is the question.

Do Criterion tend to ship your order all together? Like, if I order 5 or 6 titles, they'll all ship at once in the one box, right?
I'm using a reshipper to ship outside the US, if they ship each title individually or something the cost'd be too high to justify ordering.
