If is is owned by Janus films, it has the logo. If it is licensed from someone else it doesnt.

Completely missed this. After nearly 2.5 years, a new episode of Lee Kline's The Dead Pixel podcast was posted last month: Episode 12: Robert Harris

To clarify, it means that Janus Films has distribution rights, not necessarily that they own it outright. There's a very short list of titles Janus actually owns (All That Money Can Buy and the Saul Turrell docs come to mind).

Yeah that is more precise, 'though Janus has had the rights to some films for so long that they seemingly have had the US rights in perpetuity.

I finally made it to a brick-and-mortar Barnes & Noble store yesterday, and grabbed...

Godzilla 4K
Pandora's Box
Le Cercle Rouge 4K

The Le Cercle Rouge 4K purchase is sort of frivolous, because I already own the Studiocanal 4K, but it is one of my all-time favorite films.

The title I wanted most, the Val Lewton I Walked with a Zombie / The Seventh Victim double-feature, was only there on standard Blu-ray. I will probably visit another Barnes & Noble this week to check for the 4K again.
Repo Man was only available on standard Blu as well, so I will keep looking for the 4K.

I really, really do not care for digipacks. It is what it is, though.

With all this talk about people getting the Godzilla 4k, I gotta tell my story about my kid last week being obsessed with Godzilla. I played him the song Godzilla by Blue Öyster Cult, showed him a scene in the film where the monster is attacking the city, and then he picked out the film Friday night and stayed up late watching the entire thing.

Watching Sean Baker's "Four Letter Words" and...as much as I love Baker's work, this is rough lol

We know Criterion has both films, but I wonder if this will be packaged as a special feature on the Prince of Broadway bluray (like Texasville with Last Picture Show) rather than its own standalone release

Kino Lorber will be releasing "Lost In Translation" on 4K -- unless you're asking about Janus/theatrical distribution?

I know all the 4K talk annoys you but why these films? Far as I can tell the UHD release has been well regarded, and I would think that a jump all the way from DVD to 4K is welcome.

He doesn't feel the 4K release of it is necessary, and it should have just been a BD release. The difference between BD and 4K here, just like Scarface isn't going to be night and day, but there is an improvement nonetheless. Personally, I don't see a reason to get so bogged down in what people are buying, and it's not like he's somehow changing anyone's mind here, so his repetitious and negative posts come off more as trolling / thread-crapping than anything else.
