Criterion cannot multitask. When they have a sale on their site that overlaps the 15th - they typically delay the announcement from the 15th.

Assuming this is completely accurate, I wonder what changed Amazon’s thinking on this? They provided a decent flow of films to Criterion for awhile. Did they underperform?

They're referring to Apple, rather than Amazon there.

Yeah, that doesn't sound good. Maybe she was flat out lying? Haha. At this point I'm just trying to find some sliver of hope for Flowers of the Killer Moon as it's a freaking Scorsese movie! I would assume Scorsese would have had say if it would have a release.

What's interesting, Pieter V the guy who breaks all the new release news said that his sources said a disc release WAS happening in the US, but that was over a year ago and when I asked him for an update, he said he had no news. I was hoping maybe Paramount would release it after a year, but figured it might take longer if Criterion got a hold of it. Still, if Criterion doesn't release it, hopefully Paramount might still.

He sometimes makes educated guesses based on international listings, but he has no insider connections informing him of any domestic releases for Killers of the Flower Moon. I've seen you refer to his word on the release a few times, and I just want to set the record straight here. Not saying to give up hope, but I don't want you to rely on false hope either.

The King of Tuts who is a sock account mentioned that it might be delayed until Monday. Initially I thought they were just trying to cause trouble, but maybe they were telling the truth. Still a sock account, but sometimes these sock accounts do have some accurate information.

Oh yeah? I thought he was someone who worked in sales or something since he's usually pretty accurate when it comes to upcoming releases and information that he posts really early. So you're telling me he's just a regular Joe who has no connection the industry at all?

As far as I know, and have seen, yes. He is really great at scouring the internet for info, and upcoming listings, particularly foreign releases, which he usually extrapolates to a US release.

When it goes this long? Maybe. There was a drop about a year, a year and a half ago that wound up getting pushed to the following Monday or Tuesday, but they also were resetting expectations on their social media.
