A 4K release of The Irishman would also be most welcome.

I don't know if you saw back in March, but I posted here that I was at the Criterion Closet for SXSW and their head of acquisitions (or something like that, I don't remember her exact title) was talking to us while we waited in line and she specifically cited Killers of the Flower Moon and Nickel Boys as movies they wish they could release but that Apple and Amazon both do not want to work with them. A lot of websites actually ran away with that information and it became a slightly big news story lol

So, sadly, I'd be very surprised if that somehow changed within 2 months (especially with having it ready to announce with features + artwork + release date etc)

Because when they were screening it to see if they wanted it in the collection, everyone fell asleep due to boredom and then upon waking, moved on with their lives.

I just bought the Eagle version of this, so I can definitely confirm this is coming.

Somebody get Joe Pesci from Casino to put Apple execs heads in vices to get us Killers of a Flower Moon on the label.

Oof. You really dig Silence. Don't blame yeah. It's amazing.

Personally, I love The Aviator. And I'm not a big Leo fan yet I will die for him in this one.

Kundun is also another I love and pairs wonderfully with Silence.

Honestly though, all of Scorsese is superb. And if one of his films is "mid", it's better than most director's best films.

As much as I love Bringing out the Dead and especially The Aviator...damn, I have to actually agree with you.

KUNDUN is my favorite Scorsese film of all time. SHUTTER ISLAND is my least favorite and a piece of steaming s h i t. I also hated the CGI/AI nonsense in THE IRISHMAN which made DeNiro look like Ernest Borgnine and distracted the hell out of me.

I have yet to see AVIATOR or WOLF OF WALL STREET or KILLER MOON, but I will.

Might still happen. I'm pretty happy with the Blu-ray though which looks fantastic.

Oh, I saw it, but was really hoping the employee was just misinformed. The only reason I think it could be that is that a few months prior Apple was literally saying they wanted to license out their films to gain more exposure to the films and eventually their channel. Had a full press release and everything. So far we have seen nothing to indicate this is actually happening, but I'd imagine these deals would take some time.

The Scorsese films that would benefit from 4k UHD restorations and the Criterion treatment would be The Aviator and Gangs of New York.

And The Color of Money because of its horrid current blu-ray.
The only watchable HD version is on Disney Plus and only in select countries.

I mean true Scorsese films we need from Criterion is Who's That Knocking at My Door? and Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore. he BFI releases in the UK got cancelled for some reason and the films are crying out for release.
(I also am hoping there's a standard re-release of Bringing Out the Dead since I missed out on that "Limited" edition from Paramount)

Like I said, I don't remember her exact job title, but from our conversation it was made clear that she is the person who's in charge of the licensing and coordinating with the filmmakers (she had to step away for a minute to take a call from Sean Baker lol), so she of everybody at the company would know the status. I wish she was misinformed too, haha, but unfortunately not

They need to announce something before the thread turns into a parade of gifs of spoof announcements. What the heck is going on?
