I was going to say Satantango or Werckmeister Harmonies but, failing those, just the original Star Wars. No sequels, no alternative versions, just the original film, as originally shown in 1977, warts and all. Original soundtrack, dodgy effects and mistakes. Lots of outtakes. Also, the holiday Xmas special if they're feeling generous.

It usually depends on my mood, but right now I would love to watch Nicholas Roeg's Don't Look Now.

There's an old 1980 film, The Earthling, that would be my real dream release. The Earthling starred Ricky Schroder (Yes, the kid from Silver Spoons) as a young boy who is vacationing in Australia with his parents when he watches them die in a tragic vehicle accident. The boy wanders alone in the wilderness until he encounters an old man, played by William Holden. The old man teaches the boy how to survive and fend for himself in the wild. The Earthling was quite a bleak "kid's movie" with a sad conclusion (

[Show spoiler]It turns out that the old man is returning to his old home to die. The movie ends with the boy burying the man, then walking off alone into the woods where his own future is uncertain.

), but I loved seeing it on HBO way back in the day. It was one of those gut-punch "This is what the world is really like, kiddos." films. It would make a superb double feature with Forbidden Games.

The Earthling has never been released on DVD or Blu-ray. I have an "unofficial" DVD with a bad VHS transfer of the movie, but I would dearly love an official release.

Honestly, The Earthling seems like something that Twilight Time or Olive Films would take the ball and run with, but I'd prefer Criterion.

Akio Jissoji's Buddhist Trilogy. The first film in the series is probably my favourite Japanese film, and the third doesn't even have fan subtitles so I'm dying to see it.

I'd love to see a trilogy release of Linklater's Before series or maybe "McCabe and Mrs. Miller". However, I think it's likely those would be released by WB at some point. So I'll go with "Bad Company". An often over-looked western, starring Jeff Bridges.

Excellent! I'm going to put it in my wishlist. It's a phenomenal film, which I'd love to show to others. It's on YouTube right now if anyone care to see a great short poetic documentary.

Yeah I like Snow's Wavelength. I wouldn't expect a release of that though.
