It seems that Criterion is incapable of making Monday or Friday announcements. They need to pull their heads out of their @#$%^ as just get it done already.

It makes me mad when Criterion does this, but only because it means having to hear you guys whine like a baby that needs a nap.

Being I'm new to this "Waiting for Criterion's announcement" thing (I only started watching when their newsletter had a blue key hinting at a Mulholland Dr release, which was under 3 months ago), may I ask where the "They make their announcement on the 15th of every month" come from?
If it's from them, then I see no problem with "complaining", as its simply members pointing out Criterion's unprofessional-ism.
The fifteenth always lands on the fifteenth... And if you learn anything from college, or even the TV show, Face Off, its that it's pretty important to get shit done by your deadline date.
Also, let me ask; is it in any way possible that Criterion really does not know today?

Actually a nap sounds pretty good.

If anyone has been eying that Herzog set, the $76.79 that you can get it for today with that bn coupon seems like a decent deal.

The "announcements are made on the 15th" comes from Criterion, but they've never broached it as a Domino's "delivery in 30 minutes or it's free" type guarantee.

But even so, so what? It's not like a bank that promises you that they'll get back to you on your home loan application by such and such a date, and then don't. Or an employer who tells you that you're going to see a bump in pay on your next check, and then fails to deliver.

These are announcements for Blu-ray titles that won't be released for another three months! They are not life-changing announcements. They're just Blu-rays. Get a grip, people. I can understand disappointment, but folks around here act as if Criterion is doing this on purpose just to get you frothing at the mouth, and laugh at how silly you're being.

Someone on Twitter already blamed me for occupying their precious time.

I'll take the blame. And it was still worth it.

And yet we have people frothing at the mouth and moaning at other posters having a moan at Criterion.

Love how people think they have the right to tell others how to behave and feel regarding anything Criterion.

They update extra listings all the time, so it's not that. Nor is it release date adjustments. Or cover art. These titles are 3 months away, so there can't be legal hurdles at this point.

Anyone?

It's kinda opening themselves up to criticism they don't need, especially when they say earlier that the announcements are coming today (with the Moonrise art preview) and then wait until the last minute to say they won't be coming today.

Fan followings can be tricky to navigate when expectations are pent up.
Maybe they've had some unusual fans who stopped by their offices, you know getting their pictures taken, talking to the gal who sends the small items out through the front desk, taking up time going on and on how much they love Criterion. You know how that stuff goes, one tiny thing gets delayed which causes something else to get delayed. Then the web page coder listens to the story about about this guy coming in talking about this great concert...... Before you know it web pages don't get done and announcements get delayed. Hopefully they don't just cancel this weeks announcements.

[1] And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence at criterion.com about the space of a day.
[2] And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.
[3] And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.
[4] And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.
[5] And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.
[6] And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.
[7] The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

I recently sought out, and found, actress Patricia Gozzi. After receiving permission to do so I mailed out a package to her and I received it all back today. This was one of the items I sent and got back (I posted everything at the link below too)...
