Is it just my miscalibrated expectations or has Criterion been slacking on extras a little lately? I mean, Certain Women has two interviews... Piano Teacher has two interviews and some extras ported from a previous release...

I guess I was just crossing my fingers that Reichardt's three early shorts would end up on a Criterion disc...

I never thought Criterion would be releasing Fire Walk With Me, considering the current disc is very good and Lynch already put together all the extras he wanted for it. I believe the clue was a Lynch clue in general. Maybe I'll turn out to be wrong, but FWWM would be a complete waste since they'd bring nothing new to the table.

They're probably just carrying over the exact disc structure as the original Criterion release's 2nd disc, and adding any new content to the first disc.

It's already confirmed they're releasing it.

The movie is 130 minutes, and took up 41.12 GB itself on the MGM BD (per DVD Beaver), so I could see the two new extras (depending on their length) making it necessary to utilize a second disc (which may only be a BD25).

Not the greatest month, I gotta be honest. I'll pick up "Rebecca". I'll read up on "Festival". I'll probably check the Lynch doc out at some point, but don't want to own a standalone disc of it. But, hey, not every month can be your cup of tea.

Criterion is definitely giving our wallets a nice break with their September lineup.

I'm happy to have a month where I'm only buying one title (even if I'm buying it for the third time).

That DL doc is kind of a head-scratcher when there are so many of his feature films that need decent Region A BD releases. Maybe they will add Inland Empire as a special feature at the last minute.

More people need to be excited about Certain Women. Reichardt is one off the very best directors working today and her movies need to be seen by more people.

No no no, more people need to be excited about The Piano Teacher! Haneke is one of the greatest living directors, and Hupperts performance in the film is one of the very best ever imo.

I've only seen Wendy and Lucy but I didn't care for it at all.

These extras that were on the old Rebecca release from Criterion seem to be missing from this new re-release:

• Footage from the 1940 Annual Academy Awards ceremony, at which Rebecca won Best Picture and Best Cinematography Oscars
• Hundreds of behind-the-scenes photos chronicling the film's production from location scouting, set photos, and wardrobe continuity to ads, posters, lobby cards, and promotional memorabilia
• Illustrated essay on Daphne du Maurier, author of the book on which Rebecca is based
• Hitchcock on Rebecca: excerpts from the director's conversations with filmmaker Francois Truffaut
• 1939 test screening questionnaire

That is a real head scratcher because the recent blu-ray release of Jeanne Dielman, 23, quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelle was only 1-disc and the film is 201 minutes long. Among the many extras on the disc was a 69 minute long documentary.
