Unless I'm misunderstanding, it's on this release from Arrow -

The Kino insider mentioned that the Bava films rights holders increased their asking prices substantially leading to Kino not renewing their licenses, and I imagine it's the same with Arrow, so that might be it for a while.

The 2023 restoration is my preference. The Arrow transfer was from 2013.

The same label picked up several Bava titles that went OOP. So whoever announces one of those, has the others as well. Shout have been streaming them on their VOD channels for a while now, so they're speculated to have physical rights too. Arrow would be my guess for the other strongest candidate.

No, just specific cuts that the rights holders have are included. In this case, it's likely just the Kidnapped version that will be re-released again.

Kino said they have no interest in doing any Bava on 4K.

To add context, the Kino Insider said that the licensor for the Bava films drastically increased their rates to the point that it didn't make financial sense to renew any of the licenses. I'm sure if the licensing prices go down, Kino would be happy to release more Bava.

Hopefully, Arrow and Radiance will pick up the slack; their recent special editions of BLOOD AND BLACK LACE and PLANET OF THE VAMPIRES have both sold extremely well, which definitely gives me hope.

Doubt if it'll be Radiance in the UK, as the licensing costs were one reason that Arrow (and Kino in the US) didn't renew their license(s). It wouldn't shock me if it ends up that Shout also has the UK rights and ends up sub-licensing them to 101 Films.

i get it. i dont like it, but i completely understand where they're coming from.

ones i want most in 4K are black sunday, whip and the body and kill baby kill. but these are all ones i have i bought from kino before.

really, danger diabolik would probably look super cool on 4K. but it took so long to come to blu, im not optimistic.

Any closer to Shout or whoever getting the 4K out ? I would get Italian 4K but it does not have English subs for the original Italian language . How is the English dub ? Are they using a nice old fashioned dub ? Or something newly done ..which I think would be horrible ?

The English dub is completely different, but still great. Instead of the Italian style score, it has a great soundtrack by Les Baxter.

I assume that the English dub is the "international export" version, rather than AIP's dub for the US.
