I'll lend certain ones to my one friend and sometimes i'll lend some to my sister and her husband. They treat my stuff well, so, it's really no bother. I just be sure to take out any inserts and any slipcovers before hand.

I only lend BDs to one friend, and he does the same for me. Other than that no way in hell.

I don't really like to do it because I pay $$ for my discs, and if I let someone borrow one film I know that he will burn a copy for him... I don t really like this idea but, it is just one friend and he is a good friend. so sometimes I say yes. otherwise I am the only one in my family to know what blu-ray is...

As much as I hate to do it, I do lend them out. Mostly because I WANT them to see great movies, which to my surprise they've never seen. But I just hate when I take care of them so well, that even when I receive them the hardcover is bent or something it irritates me a lot.

I borrowed one of my blus out to a friend a while ago. When I got it back there were little holes in the plastic coating on the case, and the disc was not even securely in the box. Never again.

Angry Borrow the Blu-Rays???

Same here. I have trouble even letting my two daughters use the blu-ray player to insert blu-ray disks but since they are becoming more responsible at 17yrs and 13yrs I am learning to chill out more easily.

As to friends asking to borrow - absolutely not in this lifetime. My home theater set up is quite good and all our friends would rather watch them with us - now, that I don't mind.

So I've got a funny question...for all the people who won't loan out your Blu-ray's at all, or even let other people handle them...what will you do if you get paralyzed or are disabled in some way that you're no longer able to handle them?

Actually, I just got a great idea, since I'm having a hard time making ends meet as it is, maybe I can become a 'Professional Blu-ray Disc Handler' for obsessive people who are disabled and no longer able to handle the discs on their own. I can guarantee every time they want to watch one of their Blu's that I won't get a mark on it! I'll even wear latex gloves! I can make appointments and go from house to house as each person has their own individual movie time...there we go, that'll solve all my financial problems!

DVD's sure not a problem , I rip all my DVD's to my Pc and back them up on external hard drives anyways. As for Blu Rays, you want the truth, I have 1, only 1 friend who even has a Blu Ray player and he usually loans movies to me, he makes more money and buys more movies. I never have to worry about him borrowing my movies cuz he usually already has them. Everyone else either hasn't gone Blu Ray yet, or doesn't even have an HDTV yet and the ones who have HDTV's are all xbox fanboys who won't buy into Blu Ray until the 360 can play them.

Too many of my DVD's were "borrowed" and I never saw them again. So I will probably not lend out my blus.
