If I don't sell a digital copy on this website I will usually give them to my brother though but that is about as far as I will go. |

To my family yes. Very few select friends, may be wrong of me but I've told them if they mess it up they buy it. Only trouble had was when one friend spilled motor oil on my Fight Club dvd. He was good tho and replaced it.

I've had a very simple rule that I've applied to money, VHS, laserdisc, DVD, MOD, and Blu-ray:
"Never loan anything that you can't afford to lose." If something is out of print or otherwise difficult to replace, it stays with me. |

Yeah, why not?
It's seldom that we have friends who also have gone blu, though, so it's rare. With any media, blu, dvd, vinyl... I have told certain friends/family "no" because I don't trust it won't come back or come back damaged. Otherwise, I trust my friends. I don't accept any bum off the street as a friend. There's accountability there that I trust you'll take care of what I loan you. You damage/lose my stuff, well, I'll be expecting a new one or we will never do business for anything ever again. Not even a piece of paper. |

Yes. I actually really like the fact that I have so many movies that my friends/family can always find something in there to watch. I've been letting people watch a lot of my tv shows, and people seem to really like those.
No one I know even has any blu rays, but most of them have a blu-ray player for watching stuff on the apps like netflix and stuff, so it's pretty convenient. And everyone I give a movie to knows not to touch the bottom of the disc and to keep everything clean, lol. Also, if I have a special edition set(like my Friday the 13th collection or my Weeds set or something), I may take the discs out and put them in a regular blu case just to keep the cheap cardboard from getting damaged. |

Only to family members. But I will put the disc(s) in an empty case I have, then give it to them. Don't want the artwork, slip, digipak, steelbook, or whatever ruined. Especially since some of them have little kids that like to mess with the case. In the empty cases I've given out, many have come back broken or sticky.

Proof that the packaging is the most important feature because of the laws of supply and demand!
I will lend the disc only in a keepcase I keep for that purpose... and only if the movie is easily replaceable. And nothing rare or out-of-print. |
