Netflix usually doesn't add things until they are released on a physical format, do they?

Boy, I'd agree. Season five part 1 preorder on Blu-ray for £20.99 at Amazon. Thats Almost 50% less than here.

It's not even out until June so obviously the price is going to drop. Not to mention, you can wait until it drops more.

Thats not the point though. Yes, the price will drop, but the MSRP is still the same as a 13 episode season. So when it drops, as all seasons have, we are still being overcharged. AND, forced (if we want to own) to pay again for the second half, at full price.

The MSRP on this should be $40.60, not $65.99.

It will probably be $19.99 the first week of release.

Some assorted news:

The Hollywood Reporter says insiders are betting that Breaking Bad "could have an early edge" when it comes to this year's Emmys.

/film reports that Rian Johnson, one of Breaking Bad's repeat directors, is describing the show's final episodes as "tremendous."

According to Entertainment Weekly, HBO's Game of Thrones showrunner says, "You never feel on Breaking Bad 'oh they stretched that out' or 'they trimmed it.' It all feels perfectly organic."

The Breaking Bad-themed episode of Discovery's Mythbusters will air this season, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The release date for Need For Speed, a film starring Aaron Paul, has been moved back five weeks to March 14, 2014, Deadline reports.

I highly doubt it, as that would be 70% off, which usually takes many weeks to achieve.

But if I end up being wrong, I'll be more than OK with that.

The MSRP isn't always even right.

Season 4 was $24.99 for the first week. There is no way it will be higher than that. It might be $24.99 again, but it will most likely be $19.99 or (unlikely) $22.99.

Not sure what you mean there. The MSRP is set by the manufacturer and listed the same by all retailers.

It is April. Two months away, things can change. and just because the MSRP is set like that doesn't mean it has to be sold for the same prices season 4 was. It has 1 less disc. The MSRP will be fixed at a later date, or retailers will adjust the price accordingly

Nope, the same as previous seasons.

What does fixed mean? It isnt wrong. It has officially been "Set" already and wont change between now and release day. Retailers discounts are based on what they pay for the product. Since the MSRP is the same as season 4, we can reasonably assume that retailers will be paying the same for this as they did for season 4, and they will discount accordingly.

I don't know where you heard that, but season 5 will be 2 discs.

Season 3 and 4 were 3 discs each.

They are not going to press 8 episodes on 3 discs. A press release can be fixed.

I hope that the S5 Blu-ray release is a lot better video quality that the S4 Blu-ray release - the latter was really patchy.

If they put 8 episodes and those extensive bonus features (which add up to 566 minutes running time) on only two discs, the PQ is going to suffer.

Why are you arguing when I provide official proof? What is with you and "Fixed"? Are you taking Amazons word over that of the people who actually make the product? Why?

What extensive bonus features? There are 8 episodes. That is 5 episodes worth of material plus 5 episode worth of extras missing.

but whatever, we'll see what happens

What does that even mean?

There are 8 episodes (totalling approximately 360 minutes).
