Where are you seeing 10 episodes? Everywhere I look I see 12.

Something doesnt add up in order for it to finish on July 21st. Even with a 2 hour premiere and finale.

Big day for TV news, at least in my sad little world. Confirmation of Breaking Bad's return date and confirmation of a multi-Doctor special for Doctor Who? Now all I need is a date for Arrested Development and I'll be set.

It's safe to say that the information is false. Everything I've read says The Killing has 12 episodes which wouldn't end on the 21st. And I also haven't seen anything about Breaking Bad starting on 7/21, let alone any start date.

I went from season 1-4 in a matter of days thanks to Netflix. I was wondering how long its is going to take to get season 5 part I & part 2 up on Netflix?. Would I be better off watching the final season on TV?

Love the show BTW one of the best shows on TV it never bogged down for me from season to season.

On the plus side it means that we still have 8 to go and look forward to - otherwise it would all have been over last year.

Besides, that cliffhanger was worth it.

I'm sure 5.1 will be up before 5.2 starts in July - probably at the end of June to give the blu-ray set a few weeks to sell first. As 5.2 might not be up until the same time next year you'll definitely be better off watching it when it airs - I have a feeling the finale will be being talked about all over forums and internet sites like this so you won't want to risk finding anything out by accident.

The DVD/Blu-Ray will contain an exclusive 8 minute scene explaining backstory for the 8th episode of season 5.

June 4 is the release date

Same MSRP ($65.99) as season four, yet it contains five fewer episodes. The Whole split season thing sucks all around.

Thumbs down Misleading

I hate to be That Guy, but screw it, I'm going for it.

This really frustrates me that AMC is releasing the first half of season five, and packaging it as "The Fifth Season", with no indication that it is incomplete. Nerds like us know whats up, but I suspect there will be some unsuspecting folks who buy this under the assumption that it will be the entire season, containing every episode. Rather misleading IMO. At least HBO labeled The Sopranos Season Six Part I and II packages accurately.

Further, it ruffles my feathers that AMC is charging full price for this Blu-ray set when it contains 38% (5 episodes) less material than seasons 2-4. Later, if AMC only sells a Season Five Part 2 for full price, and never sells a complete Fifth Season, I'll really be bummed.

Downright greedy and sneaky.

It really is, they're finally releasing all of Breaking Bad on Blu-Ray (on my Birthday of all days) and although they're all available through Netflix free streaming and been on DVD for quite a while, I bet they charge full price for all series individually and lower them at a later date (maybe when the full boxset comes out with the final half of season 5). They probably won't have any of the special features as well over here.

You know he prices have been up for ages you could have just checked - they're not charging 'full price' for the previous seasons.

At Sainsburys you can get season 1 for £12.99 and seasons 2 - 4 for £15.99. Cheaper than both the original DVD releases and the season 5 release - so yes, they have considered how readily available they are and reflected it in the price.

Fair enough - but the range of prices show that at least AMC/Sony are pricing them lower than if they were 'new' releases. The MRRP for seasons 2 - 4 are £24.99 whereas the DVD versions were £29.99. For season 1 on blu-ray it's £19.99 - compared to season 5's £29.99 for one more episode.

Even if the stores have them at their MRRP that's still lower than if they were 'new' releases - and that's up to the stores. Sony have done right by UK fans in terms of their pricing of these. Hell, I can't speak for the US release but, here in the UK, the first half of season five is being released at a price that's lower than a full season would have been (if the DVD versions of seasons 2 - 4 were £29.99 then you can bet the blu-ray versions would have been £39.99 - £45 if released at the same time).

So, here in the UK, Sony treats us fairly well. Apart from the delay in releasing them on blu-ray in the first place but even that's understandable (if frustrating).
