I have a few DVD copies of this movie as a result of give-a-ways from relatives that didn't know about the relationship between the two main characters.

Despite my own beliefs concerning this, I still thought it was an excellent film for what it portrays. The cinematography was also fantastic. This will most likely be in my collection come release day.

Just can't see adding this to my collection as it's just not a film i would want to watch repeatedly. Have to agree on the performances from heath and jake being top notch though. There will probably be a lot of extra talk about this release because of Heath's untimely demise.

Fantastic movie. I was hesitant at first about this movie and didn't actually watch it until about a year or so after it came out, but then was blown away at how awesome it was. Incredible story with Oscar worthy acting all round. I'll probably pick this up, not full price but for around $15 or so.

AWESOME! Heath Ledger did just as good of a performance in this movis as he did the Dark Knight. I know some people are still hung up on sexuality, who cares its a great movie and Heath is amazing!

+1 Actually it was far better IMHO. Subtle and tortured. A very moving performance.

I think I might get it. I thought it was the best film of 05 (should have won Best Picture and not that god awful CRASH) and as a hetero male, I am not embarrassed to say that it almost made me cry. The only other two movies that have done that in the last few years are ATONEMENT and SUPERMAN RETURNS.

Do you hate to import. My brother says the same thing. I think some people equate importing to paying too much. There have been many imports that I have gotten below what you would be charged in local stores if there was even a US release.

I can't wait to get my glands - I mean my HANDS (!) on this powerful release! What an intense drama. Fantastic! I have been waiting for this BD forever.

That is for the US according to the link in the OP's message. Glad to hear that. Damn Universal, if they want all of my money way don't they just ask me to sign over all my paychecks to them then they can just automatically send me all their releases when they come out. First Friday Night Lights then King Kong, now Brokeback Mountain. Not to mention any other Universal titles coming out and the ones I already have and want, but waiting for price to go down.

Wonder what this'll be like as I was a bit underwhelmed by the transfer on the current UK Blu-Ray disc. Felt the picture just wasn't that sharp.
