Early Blu-rays that may have playback issues (Criterion, Well Go USA, etc.)

You may not have to return the disc, but you might have to write all over it and take a picture, though I suppose they could have changed their m.o. again in that regard.

I guess I'll find out soon enough as it's about time to hit them up again in that regard… and a few others.

I wish LIONSGATE offered that method. I have have some choice words to write on the disc as well as holding it with my middle finger in the picture.

the Poseidon Adventure is dead!! The disc won't play. I am lucky enough to have bought the European steel book region free edition and that still works!!

It has been awhile since I have had to contact them. They used to make it very easy.

Make sense? I'm not aware of any version from 2012, but for clarity, the original is from 1972. The BD was released by 20th-Century Fox in the USA, so the message I was responded to failed to note which version of the film, which disc format, or which region.

The so-called remake was a 2005 TVM, followed by another attempt in 2006 under the title "Poseidon". There was also a (dreadful) sequel in 1979. The only one I enjoyed was the 1972 original, which was the first BD I ever watched.

As there is only one movie called The Poseidon Adventure that was released on steelbook in Europe, I thought you just wanted to know which pressing was having issues

I've got several discs that look like they're starting to bronze near the center.. but still playable as of right now. I assume that degradation is only going to probably work it's way out further over time..

I wonder if buying any of these that are still available new.. if we'd for sure be getting proper pressings or possibly they're still working through their original batches, if not a very popular title?

I would re-buy a couple if I KNEW I was going to get one that wasn't going to give me trouble again. For example, The Punisher has the cover art with the silver top and bottom (the one I have) and another release without. Does anyone know if the latter is a different disc and not plagued by this issue?

I suppose I can also rip in the meantime.
