I just received my replacement discs. I had sent the titles through paper sleeves and I had received them through the same sleeves that I had sent, which was considerate of them. As for the discs themselves, two of the three titles have Second Printing labeled on them. However, one of the discs didn't have any printing listed on it (that title happened to be "Howard's End"). Nevertheless, they look just as new.

Any chance, with the first post, that you can put in what edition of the movie that has the flaw and or what year it stopped with the flawed disks?

That's what the IFPI codes are supposed to indicate. It's not a question of "what edition of the movie" is problematic, it's where the disc was pressed.

1 - What is an IFPI code?
2 - How do I know what version to look out for in regards to:
Pirates of the Caribbean 1 (mis-framed; replacement available)

They are an alphanumeric code etched on the inner rings (on the data surface) and stamped on the plastic hub on the label side. If you go to this post there will be scans (hidden by spoiler tags to save space) showing you what to look for, and a mention of which IFPI codes are bad.

That, I can't tell you. That's not covered by this thread, which is about discs with playback issues, not discs that are improperly mastered or encoded.

I would suggest you look for a thread for Pirates of the Caribbean, and see if anyone there can tell you what to look for.

Actually, the nature of the OP has changed. When was the last time that you read it?

(Btw, I've already answered Kaine's questions about POTC 1.)

Actually, those links don't say anything about it ever being corrected for later releases, I read every post and article...

I got my replacements for M and SEVENTH SEAL today.

Many thanks to Criterion for standing behind their product.

I ordered a half-dozen new titles from the B & N sale without a moments hesitation, including the corrected ERASERHEAD.

Why not check the scenes in question? If Orlando Bloom's head is missing, you know you have a bad disc.

Does that Howards End disc actually have printed art, or is it a label sticker?

My apologies. The disc only has the title with the Criterion logo with a maize background.

It's never had printed art, just the label:

Not my copy, as mine's with Criterion, and has been since last Monday

Yes, but look at Sammy's picture, it doesn't even have the movie title on it, LOL!!!
