GB is showing they were dead last in pass defense. Also that run defense was brutal.

I was looking at Eli's career stats earlier. His completion percentage is like 3 points better than John Elway's and only 1 point worse than Dan Marino's...

They sure are, Rodgers and Jennings haven't played in weeks and it's showing, still can't believe they gave up that fade route in the end zone for 6. 20-10, at least they get the ball first but their defense is showing why everybody thinks they're not that good, forced turn-overs aside.

Completion rate is higher today that it's ever been. NFL completion average for 2011 is 60.1%. In 1985 it was 54.8%. We're talking about a 5% increase from the time Marino was at the top of his game to today. The average QB rating is 11 points higher today than in the mid-80's. Different era, different rules.

If we're going by pure numbers then Donovan McNabb would be first ballot, which he isn't.

come on Giants! 10 points is nothing to GB....

SF has very little chance to win at GB...but they have a better chance to play at home against NY.

NY is a scary team....but it's better to play at home than at GB.

GOOOO SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS

Exactly why I hate seeing coaches bench starters the final week or two just for the sake of avoiding injury. More often it just makes the players rusty after a 3 week layoff.

I thought the Niners played all their guys the last game. Looking at the box score it appears they didn't sit anyone against the Rams week 17. One week of is one thing, 2-3 weeks off between games for key players is another.

AFC Title game opening line:

Patriots favored by 7.5 vs. Baltimore
Over/Under 50.5

I'd definitely take the under for that one. The spread of 7.5 is a big larger than I thought too.

This one is about over. Green Bay is making far too many costly mistakes.

Wow the packers are playing like the saints yesterday, which isn't a good thing.

Looks like that song Bad Day is perfect for the packers. Cause they are having one.

We should cut Namath some slack here (I've finally decided to stop burying him). His completion % despite how dismal it looks was still above league average for the first half of his career and he was the first QB to throw for 4000 yards in a season (in only 14 games in 1967). He's still not hall worthy but was a good option at QB.

Eli Manning is a hall of famer if he wins one more
At this point in his career, he is barely border line

The audi tow truck commercial is pretty good

As an Atlanta resident, I really like that reference to the blizzard of '93.

Eli Manning has a 1.43 career TD:Int ratio. That he would even be considered borderline HOF is a joke.

I don't think HoF candidacy is determined purely by statistics and milestones, though (you could make a better case for this in baseball).

Here's what Wiki says about Broadway Joe, for example;

"Joe Namath is in the Professional Football Hall of Fame. While his career statistics are not exceptional (Ex: Career passing percentage 50.1, QB rating 65.5, 50 more interceptions than TD's), Namath was the game's first true media superstar and Namath was the first quarterback to throw for 4,000 yards during the 14 game 1967 season. This feat was not to be achieved again until Dan Fouts topped 4,000 yards during the 1979 season in a 16 game season. Namath threw for 4,000 yards under old rules that gave much less protection to both the quarterback and receivers. Namath's play on the field in the years before his knees seriously limited his mobility helped evolve the quarterback position and the NFL style of play from a run oriented ball control game to today's more open passing style. Hall of Fame coach Bill Walsh stated that Namath was "the most beautiful, accurate, stylish passer with the quickest release I've ever seen." Hall of Fame coach Don Shula stated that Namath was "one of the 3 smartest quarterbacks of all time."

I've always heard that if you can't tell the story of the NFL without talking about _____, then that player should be in the Hall. Though I'm not old enough to have watched Namath play, it sounds like he meets this criteria based in the above.
