Glad to see pouting like a 3 year old that had his favourite toy taken away was rewarded with a fat new contract. I think we really overpaid Carr, hopefully he will work out better than the last 2 corners we paid huge contracts to, Anthony Henry and Terence Newman.

The deal reportedly includes $14 million guaranteed. It's a hefty chunk of change for an injury-prone journeyman, but a necessary risk for a team that fielded one of the worst "receiver corps" in recent memory last season.

The odds are strong that Henne will start at some point next season. GM Gene Smith is invested heavily in Blaine Gabbert, but the 2011 first-rounder is going to have to make major strides in pocket presence and accuracy to hold off Henne for the season. Although Henne has been plagued by a hesitancy to take chances down the field and red-zone inefficiency, new coach Mike Mularkey may have more luck bringing out his physical gifts than the Dolphins did.

No Tebow in Jacksonville. I'm sure MaCruz is very disappointed...

Charles and Hillis WOW

Chiefs sign Hillis to complement Charles

Chiefs signed RB Peyton Hillis, formerly of the Browns, to a one-year, $3 million deal.

It's likely Hillis turned down more money from the Browns more than once last season. The signing reunites Hillis with OC Brian Daboll, who oversaw his breakout 2010 campaign. It also provides the Chiefs with an excellent insurance policy on rehabbing feature back Jamaal Charles (torn ACL), and a massive upgrade on short-yardage runners Thomas Jones and Jackie Battle. Although Hillis' presence makes it unlikely Charles will be in for a repeat of his 1,467-yard 2010 campaign, it restores the "thunder and lightning" dynamic Kansas City expertly exploited between Charles and Jones in 2010. That is, provided Hillis stays healthy after being limited to 10 games by a variety of ailments last season.

I would have preferred Reggie Nelson, but our secondary just got a much needed upgrade anyway.

The funny part is his numbers in Jacksonville this season will probably be about half what they were in Dallas, Gabbert is nowhere near the QB Tony Romo is.

Very, also pretty sure even our haphazard offensive line is better than theirs, Robinson did a lot of damage deep, averaging about 17 ypc and also scored 11 touchdowns. I will miss him a lot, less if we can get Early Doucet to replace him.
