Springsteen just played the halftime show in 2009 so I can't see him being chosen again. He also may have burned some bridges with the league when they told him he had to shorten a song, he agreed, and then the band played the whole song and went longer than the NFL wanted. I could definitely see Bon Jovi being the lead and Springsteen accompanying them for a song though.

Springsteen just did halftime a few years ago so think thatd be a longshot.

Id give bon jovi a better shot since theyve never done it.

i want the Seahawks' cool ass stadium to get a Superbowl. Plus it would be the best halftime show of all time with their music history.

Everyone wants a super bowl. Heck, I'm hoping that Denver gets one.

However, our weather this time of year is extremely variable. In the last 2 weeks it's been-

Snowing, with a high of 12 degrees and moderate winds. (crappy football weather)
Calm, sunny and 59 degrees for a high. (great football weather)

And just about every combination between those.

total rain per year: New York area gets 9-11 more inches of rain per year than Seattle.

Maybe Seattle gets half an inch more in the month of February but NY gets way more over the course of a year. Case in point if NY gets a Superbowl with just half an inch less than Seattle, then Seattle should be awarded one too with the best stadium in the NFL. Half an inch is like a morning drizzle. The NFL usually has a "no Superbowl below 50 degrees" rule but they just flushed that rule down the toilet. Seattle deserves one. It would be the loudest SuperBowl of all time.

The NFL rule is still that a Super Bowl can only be held outdoors in cities where it averages 50 degrees in February, they just gave New York/New Jersey a one-time exemption. The decision of whether they will have another cold weather game will likely depend on how next year's game goes. If it's a snowy mess (like the farmers almanac predicts) then I don't see another cold weather game anytime soon.

Regardless, the earliest another cold weather Super Bowl could happen is 2018. It's already been decided that the 2015 SB will be played in Arizona, 2016 is expected to go to the 49ers new Santa Clara stadium or Miami, and 2017 is expected to go to Santa Clara, Miami, or Houston. I would guess the Vikings will be the frontrunner for 2018 since they'll have a new stadium and the NFL typically rewards cities that build new stadiums with a Super Bowl

Dallas got hit with that fluke ice storm so they want back in the rotation too.

100,000+ seats even minus those extra jerry jones invisible seats is hard to pass up.

so for 2018 it's already a battle royal featuring Minnesota, New Orleans, Dallas, and probably Houston. I'll take none of the above. Make it outdoors from now on. Tired of domes.

excellent Super Bowl

loved the chippiness and the fact that the refs let them play. all i'll say about the last play is this; many other flags didn't get thrown for the same behavior, so if they threw the flag then, it would just lead to a different type of complaining ("they didn't throw flags all game and now this?!" )

San Fran had MANY chances and shot themselves in the foot:
  • Kaep missing a wide open Crabtree in the end zone on 3rd and goal (or Crabtree thinking the pass was for him when maybe it was meant for Moss since the pass was so high and Moss was behind him)
  • James' fumble inside the 25.
  • illegal formation ON THE FIRST PLAY OF THE GAME. how does that happen at all after two weeks of preparation? not to mention it wiped out a big 20 yard gain on the first play.
  • Giving up way too many 3rd down conversions
  • offsides on an incomplete 3rd and 9, following play was a TD to Boldin
  • Abandoning the running game
  • the entire red zone offense in the last two minutes. absolutely terrible play calling

Next few years will show us just how good Flacco is. everyone says the defense won all their games and he was just along for the ride, but if they lose, it's all him. well, now that half their defense will likely be gone due to retirement or free agency, it will be up to Flacco to keep them a contender. i don't see Baltimore being a dynasty, SF has / had more of a shot at a dynasty than Baltimore, but Baltimore are still the world champions until next February.

hurry up NFL Draft!

And as for that, I really hope Aaron Rodgers nevers wins another super bowl. I've seen too many Packer-to-49er bandwagon fans just made outrageous statements because they got bounced out of the playoffs two years in a row now.

I've only seen such "entitlement" from Patriot fans.
The ****?!!! And here I am a Packer fan (Of 20 years mind you) rooting for your team to win

I guess I shoulda' been rooting for the 49ers instead.

Take your victory and go the **** on!

I've always thought the Super Bowl should be played in the city of the Super Bowl team with the best record like championships in the old days. I hate neutral sites. Football is meant to be played in the elements. All neutral site games do is give you a bunch of rich but clueless fans

Some people I tell you right?

I've been a 49ers for at least 20-25 years. And perhaps you should have.

Some people don't know when to sut up even after their team has won. Even if it was a "conspiracy" as they were saying before with the black out.

As expected Lions wasted no time with this one

Quote:

Lions part ways with mercurial WR Titus Young

Lions waived WR Titus Young.

It was a matter of when, not if, the Lions parted ways with the mercurial, delusional two-year "veteran." Although Young was red-flagged for character issues coming out of Boise State, the Lions made him the No. 44 pick of the 2011 draft. Young managed to post a promising 48/607/6 line as a rookie despite a few run-ins with coach Jim Schwartz, but went off the rails as a sophomore. Young sucker-punched teammate Louis Delmas in an offseason workout, drew a personal foul for head-butting Rams CB Janoris Jenkins in Week 1 and sabotaged the Lions' devastating Week 11 loss to the Packers by intentionally lining up in the wrong position. Sent home for the year in Week 13, Young sealed his Lions fate with a series of bizarre January tweets. A true burner, Young has the skill to succeed in the NFL, but won't have teams lining up to give him a second chance.

The Lions releasing Titus Young just shows how upset they are with him because they are really short at receiver now opposite Megatron. Ryan Broyles is rehabbing his second torn ACL in two years and their leading returning wide receiver opposite Calvin Johnson is a well past his prime Nate Burleson who had 27 yards and 240 yards last year. The Lions are already up against the cap due to Matt Stafford and Ndamakung Suh's huge rookie contracts so they aren't going to be able to sign anyone even remotely expensive.

i'm 30 and have been a Packer fan for as long as i can remember.

the only reason i was rooting for your team was b/c the 9ers beat mine.

had the 9ers not beat the Packers, i would've been cheering for the hometown boy Kaepernick since he's originally from Milwaukee.

honestly, i don't see Flacco winning another Super Bowl. watching last night's game....he's to inconsistent. yeah he put a monster 1st half....but did squat the 2nd half.

Flacco had a defense to bail him out of certain spots. Rodgers hasn't had a defense during his time in the league and has had to do it all on his own for the most part.

give him that Ravens def. and see what that kind of a team can do!!!
