I know the loss isn't his fault, but you can't ignore the offense falling apart with the defense.

He put up 38 of those in essentially the first half (the 7 at the beginning of the second came when they had the ball at the 22). The rest of the game?

So by your reasoning, had the offense scored 21 points in the first half, and scored 23 in the 2nd, with let's say a 14 point lead at half, and the same final result 45-44, all the fault would have been on the defense, but because they scored most of their points in the first half, it's offense's fault? That's how it works in your book?

I've never said it was the offense's fault. But to say 100% of the fault is on the defense when Alex Smith and the offense failed to stay on the field over and over in the second half is ridiculous.
