Nothing unusual with the coaches handshake. Though I'll admit I think the Niners are probably the best team right now even though it's only Week 2. I didn't think Alex Smith would continue to manage the offense but he's playing smart football.

Houston looked good the first two weeks too. Of course they beat Jacksonville and Miami. We should know more about the Texans next week when they go to Denver.

Look out where the team to beat this end. and its Superbowl or bust!

I think Alex Smith has only gotten better and is still proving his nay sayers.

Schaub's injury and that new contract doesn't seem to be affecting his play so far this year. I'm looking forward to that game as well next week.

I'm just hoping the way the Jags played today was because our injured offensive line going up against the best defense in the Texans of last season.

Hopefully Atlanta's offense plays the same tomorrow as it did last week.

He was a #1 overall pick who took 7 seasons to develop into a decent NFL QB. Smith has a lot of work to do.

It's most amazing that he was even given so long.

WTH is going on in New England? Not that I'm complaining, but why in the hell is Julian Edelman starting and getting more snaps than Wes Welker? Is BB being vindictive because of Welker's contract situation? Or do they honestly think they have a better chance with Edelman. It took an Aaron Hernandez injury to allow Welker to get some playing time and some looks. I just don't understand it. I hope they employ this same strategy when they play us.

I hope it signals he's gone after the season. Maybe Atlanta can use the Gonzalez money to grab Welker. *end pipe dream*

He should join the dark side and stick it to the Pats.

seems like they are doing the same thing they did with Moss.. its Dejavu.. and you're right the only reason Welker got any PT today was due to Aaron's injury.. Welker didn't even start!! Early rumors are the Browns are interested in making a move for Welker.. They're saying Aaron is going to be out 2-3 weeks and that right trade deadline, i have a feeling when Aaron comes back Wes is gone

Always liked Coughlin. He may be over 65 but I wouldn't want to mess with him. He looked like he wanted to slug Greg Schiano after the game today.

Default Golden Tate hit on Sean Lee -- A Fine May Be Required

Cowboys at Seattle:

At first the hit looked dirty.

But, after watching the hit multiple times on You Tube, I see that Golden Tate simply hit Sean Lee in the chest. It's like a car crash... at first your head goes forward... and then backward.

IF Tate had hit Lee in the helmet, then the film would show first, Lee's head going back. But, it shows the opposite. Lee's head first comes forward. The angle that Lee was running when Tate hit him, simply upended Lee. Lee's head comes back, after the hit to his chest, as Lee is upended, and falls to the turf.

It's interesting, that on that play, Golden Tate, first waved to possibly receive the ball, then, Tate slips, then Tate runs and puts the chest hit on Lee.

----------------------------
Added:

Helmet hit to the upper chest.... but a blindside helmet hit.... so a fine may be coming....

According to former Vice President of Officiating Mike Pereira the Golden Tate hit was illegal. From his Twitter page:

Quote:
The hit on Lee is an illegal blindside block. Lee is considered defenseless, which means you can't lower your head & hit in head/neck area.

On a blindside block the player is defenseless and you can't lead with your helmet no matter where you hit him.
Both Pereira and Jerry Jones said they think Tate will be fined.

I stand corrected.... I did not know about the blindside block helmet rule.

It was definitely a blindside helmet hit, to Lee's upper chest.

Correction, he was the #1 overall pick and it took 7 years of building to have a decent team around him. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if you switch Aaron Rodgers and Alex Smith back in that draft, Rodgers would have had all the same problems smith had and not done as well as with the Packers. Smith has gone through more new schemes and offensive coordinators than most 15-20 year QB's.

It's like the problems in AZ and Chicago, you can't just throw a guy in their at QB and expect magic. There has to be a team around him, and both AZ and Chicago won't get better until they fix their offensive lines.

Coughlin is a blow hard whiner. Since when is football a gentlemen's game ? Play till the whistle blows.

I guess he feels that since he has two rings he can puff out his chest a little. I'm all about playing to the final whistle, but I can't say I agree with what the Bucs did at the end of the game.
