We all know why they are doing it, but that doesn't mean it's the right move for the NFL. If it isn't broke, don't fix it. The NFL playoff system is as close to a perfect system as you will find in professional sports.

How so? MLB (even with the stupid wild card game), NBA and NHL are far better systems for determining the best teams.

I disagree. You can't play multiple game series' with football. The sport is too rough and violent on the human body. Not to mention with each playoff game being one and done, it really amps up the excitement level that other sports do not have in my opinion. It's sports at its best.

I realize you can't play series, but that's why it's not a perfect system. The fact that a team that is not the best team can win it shows the problems. When was the last time a team in the NBA Finals or World Series didn't show that they were the better team (by winning 4 of 7 games)? In football, one blown call can completely decide the winner.

Blown calls happen in all sports, and can potentially be the deciding factor in any game and shift momentum for good in any series. Hell, look at the Braves this past season. (I'm not trying to rub salt in your wound at all, just using it as an example)

The World Series/MLB? Baseball is as big of a crapshoot as you can get even in a 7 game series. You are talking about a game where the best regular season record wins the World Series about 15% of the time. Where the best team in the playoffs has a barely better than 50% chance to beat the worst team in the playoffs.

The best record in the season doesn't mean you're the best team in any sport.

Of course it is. Momentum is huge in sports, if a ball call costs a team a game, it can also means the series. (Because they then also lose momentum)
