Trust me I know. Coming from an FSU fan Ponder is terrible. Only reason he went that high because of the senior bowl and he had a great work out. It didn't hurt either that Vikings were desperate for a QB.

Just saw this story at ESPN.com:

Quote:
Arian Foster rewarded each of the Houston Texans' offensive linemen with a unique gift for paving the way to his third consecutive 1,000-yard season.

The star running back presented each with a Segway personal transporter on Wednesday.

The linemen screamed with delight when they discovered their new toys, and learned how to ride them with help from Foster, who has had one for a while.

"I can't do anything without them," Foster said of Houston's linemen. "It was just my way of giving back to the big fellas."
A very generous gift. Except...

According the Segway website:

Quote:
Does the Segway PT have weight limits?

Yes. Segway sets weight limits for rider safety and to reduce the risk of damage to a Segway PT. A rider must not be less than 100 lbs. The PT’s maximum payload (which includes the rider and all cargo) is 260 lbs.
I just looked at the Houston Texans roster. Not one offensive lineman weighs less than 290 lbs, and all but one weigh over 300.

But I'm sure their families will enjoy the Segways!

Kudos to Arian!

Offensive lineman never get the recognition that they deserve.

Arian Foster isn't the first back to buy his whole offensive line Segways, Reggie Bush did the same thing last year. It's pretty normal for running backs and quarterbacks to buy their offensive line gifts. Depending on how much money the backs make and how good their season was the gifts can be anything from a nice dinner to Rolex watches, vacations, and electronics. A couple years back Tom Brady bought 3 of his lineman new Audi SUVs. It's also common for a back that makes the Pro Bowl to bring his whole line with him to Hawaii.

If Jones-Drew made more money he could of bought some gifts for his lineman last year when he got the rushing title.

Why must the Jets continue to put themselves in horrible situations? In no way shape or form do I want Michael Vick to be our QB next year. Good God....

This one has me shaking my head as well. Didn't the Jets just show that want nothing to do with a non-traditional QB? Alex Smith is who they should set their sights on.

Very practical. I'm pretty sure an SUV can hold more than 260 lbs.

Alex Smith is too boring for the Jets. The Jets want someone exiting who will bring lots of media exposure to their team . If they bring in Vick they'll get what they really want, which is nightly segments on Sportscenter and ESPN camped out at their training camp, then he'll play 10 games, lead the NFL in turnovers, go 4-6, and then get a season-ending injury.

A three-ring circus is the only way to describe that organization. It will be interesting to see the endgame for Tebow in all this, I don't see him fitting in anywhere around the league.

Why would he think 300+ pound linemen would use a segway? True story - the guy who owned the segway company drove one over a cliff and fell to his death.

The Bills have a new lease to stay in their current stadium for ten more years. $130 million in renovations will be done to the stadium, with the team paying $35 million of that. However, the team has a one-time out after seven years in which they could move and owe nothing. Once Bills owner Ralph Wilson dies (he is currently 94) his family will sell the team and while there's groups that want to buy the team and keep it in Buffalo there will also be plenty of potential buyers that want to move the team elsewhere.

So the city is dropping $95 mill on the stadium and allowing the team to just pack up and move in 7 years if tjey want? Sounds like a bad move.

The city is probably hoping that by guaranteeing the team will stay for seven more years some other team or teams will move to LA and thus that won't be an option for relocation. Ralph Wilson has had some health issues over the last couple years and if he would have passed without a new lease then it may have been difficult to keep the team in Buffalo because there aren't a lot of people that can afford a team that would want to keep it in Buffalo. I know there's a group that includes Jim Kelly that wants to buy the team and keep it in Buffalo but if someone like Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong or Larry Ellison decided they wanted to buy the team and move them to LA there's no group that could outbid them.

Why does everyone seem to view LA as some garden of eden for an NFL team to move to? They've had team after team in that city and every one ended up moving elsewhere.

Did anyone see T.O. on First Take today? Man I feel sorry for that guy, I know a lot of it he brought on him self. I know he's 39 but I hope someone give's him one more shot. I thought he came off better then Chad Johnson did a couple of weeks ago. Imo I think they are both done. If the Jets want sign you or the Raiders you have no hope.
