Yes but the play was still reviewed which on thanksgiving it was not because the flag was thrown and its unsportsmanlike, at least that's how it was explained to us. The play should not have been reviewed.

Besides I think AP would rather be in the playoffs versus getting the record. He's a guy that values winning.

O im not denying ibeing in the playoffs make up for it, and his interview at the end of the game where he didnt even know how many yards he was short proved that it was about the team and not his individual record. I got nothing but mad respect for AP

you must be joking.

Vikings have played the Packers very well both games this year - including this win. they never seem to stop Peterson (he seems to get at least 150 rush yards a game against them) so there is absolutely no guarantee they don't take down the Packers next week.

don't get me wrong, it would certainly sting like hell to lose a close game AND be 9 or so yards short, but for the Vikings and especially Peterson, all his hard work pays off and they get to the playoffs

Falling nine yards of breaking Eric Dickerson's single-season rushing record, Adrian Peterson rushed a career-high 34 times for 199 yards and a touchdown and added a 2-yard touchdown reception to carry the Vikings to a 37-34 victory over the Packers in Week 17.

Peterson ripped off five runs of at least 18 yards, including a 26-yard scamper to set up the game-winning field goal on the next play with three second remaining. Had there been more time on the clock, Peterson would have been a good bet to bypass Dickerson with another touchdown jaunt. AP tied Earl Campbell with seven games of 150+ yards while his 2,097 yards are the second-most in history (on 31 fewer carries than Dickerson). In the greatest stretch ever by a running back, Peterson totaled 1,598 yards over the final 10 games -- which still would have led the league this season. Fantasy's No. 1 back finished with a gaudy per-carry average of 6.03 while adding 40 receptions, 217 receiving yards, and 13 total scores. After putting the entire offense on his back while leading the Vikings to the playoffs, Peterson should be the favorite for MVP and Comeback Player of the Year honors exactly one year after undergoing surgery to repair a shredded knee. Averaging 204.5 yards in two games

That's a selfish way of looking at it..... besides a RB is nothing without a solid O line. AP would be the first to commend his O Line for such a great rushing season.

Besides its a team game..... the goal is always to win a Championship..... not to win personal accolades.
