I'm I the only one that doesn't think Chip Kelly we be a good NFL coach? I think he fits more in collage football, I could be wrong.

I never knew the better your team does the harder the schedule. I thought it just effect it the draft order. The Pats had pretty easy schedule and they went to the super bowl last year. So how does this work?

For the most part schedules are set years in advance. Every year you have 6 games against your own division teams. You also play every team from an NFC and AFC division once, with the divisions rotating so in a 4-year span you'll play each division. The only 2 games that aren't set years in advance are that you'll play the 2 teams in your conference that finished in the same place in their division as you did.

I didnt watch the game, as work was so busy, but not a bad debut for Pryor, 13-28 150 yards, 3 TD's (1rush) & 49 rush yards... Behind a terrible O-line, Its a starting point

Bring in Wisenhunt for Offensive coordinator and i'll be happy .. or at least someone who knows how to run an offense unlike Knapp

Chargers fired coach Norv Turner and GM A.J. Smith.

After avoiding the unemployment line by the skin of their teeth last offseason, Turner and Smith's impending dismissal was an open secret following the Chargers' (latest) midseason implosion. Collaborators since 2007, the Chargers reached the playoffs in each of Turner's first three seasons as coach, but were runners up in the AFC West the past three years as they skidded to a 24-24 record. Turner remains one of the league's most respected play-callers, but seems to lack the qualities to be a head coach. Smith, meanwhile, often appeared more interested in playing hardball than actually GMing the past few seasons. Both should find jobs for 2013 if they're interested. Turner as a coordinator, Smith as a front-office assistant.

Raiders should have done this crap midseason

Quote:

Raiders fired OC Greg Knapp.

Per NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, "two more offensive coaches" have been let go, as well. It was disastrous one-year stint for Knapp in Oakland, as he refused to adjust his zone-blocking scheme despite having one of the premier power runners in the game at his disposal in Darren McFadden. The Raiders went from averaging 22.4 points under Hue Jackson in 2011 to 18.1. An impressive majority of those points came in garbage time. Knapp has likely coordinated his last offense, but his run-game prowess should earn him a position coach job for 2013.

Gruden interviewing for jobs Philly and SD possible landing spots

Quote:

CBS Sports' Mike Freeman reports that ESPN color analyst Jon Gruden will interview for NFL head coaching jobs this offseason.

Gruden has stated publicly that he intends to remain at ESPN, but Freeman reports that teams have been "quietly" contacting him "over the past few weeks," and Philly as well as San Diego are potential landing spots. Per Freeman, Gruden could begin substantive talks with teams as soon as Monday, and is interested in a return to the sidelines "if the right job opens up." Updating previous items, Cleveland is not expected to make a run at Gruden because he's long had a frosty relationship with new Browns president Joe Banner.

Cleveland's changes were made because they have a new owner and he wanted to bring in his own people. I've also heard that the new owner doesn't believe Weeden will ever be a franchise quarterback and that it's not out of the question that they use their first pick on a QB.

Gruden is a studio suit now. Not to mention he only won a super bowl with Tony Dungy's team and then dismantled that machine and stockpiled random QB's.

Because it happened on Black Monday this has been largely overlooked, but the NFLPA had it's collusion case dismissed today.

Quote:
In short, the NFL removed a total of $46 million in cap space from the two teams (Raiders and Cowboys) for treating the uncapped year of 2010 as, well, uncapped. The NFLPA, despite agreeing to the cap penalties in exchange for an agreement by the league to artificially increase the 2012 salary cap to a level north of the 2011 number, claimed that comments made in the aftermath of the announcement of the cap penalties disclosed for the first time that shenanigans were occurring in 2010.

The NFL argued that any potential claim for collusion was barred by the simple fact that the parties agreed in 2011 to end all litigation when finalizing a new Collective Bargaining Agreement. Judge Doty agreed, finding that “the NFLPA released the claims it attempts to assert in the underlying action.”

As a result, the settlement agreement won’t be reopened, and the NFLPA won’t be able to pursue upwards of $1 billion in damages from the NFL.
So in essence, while it's obvious the league colluded to create an artificial salary cap in 2010 and then punished the Cowboys and Redskins for not going along with their illegal collusion, there's nothing the NFLPA can do about it at this point because when they signed a new CBA they signed away the right to sue for any past claims.

I've got my fingers crossed he'll take a head coaching position if offered. Out of all the available vacancies, the Bears are in the best position to win in the immediate future.

Thinking Ryan will be dealt the same fate, albeit delayed.
