How many times has Mort gotten wrong intel Although I doubt they'd pick him up anyway. Still fun to read.
Byrd's not leaving Buffalo.

Redskins need to be trying to clear cap space just to keep the guys they have, like us I doubt they will be adding any big name free agents due to lack of funds.

Falcons begin great purge of 2013, Usher in Steven Jackson era?

Quote:

Falcons released RB Michael Turner.

The Falcons also released DE John Abraham and CB Dunta Robinson. All three players had been mentioned as candidates for release, but it's stunning to see the Falcons part ways with three veteran leaders in one fell swoop. Turner's release is by far the least surprising, as the 31-year-old former "Burner" simply appeared out of gas last season, averaging a miserable 3.6 yards on his 222 carries. His $6.9 million salary was prohibitive. The Falcons must now find a between-the-tackles, preferably veteran, complement for Jacquizz Rodgers. Free agent Steven Jackson is the most obvious candidate. In all, the three releases create $21.4 million in real savings, and $18.7 million in cap space.

I knew Turner was leaving, and Dunta isn't a huge surprise.... but Abraham is, at least for me. We don't currently have anybody that can fill what he brought. Though maybe the brass is listening to Roddy White and going hard after Freeney.

But a good bit of this money is going to probably go to Brent Grimes and William Moore. Ryan will also probably get a chunk.

I guess age is probably the biggest fact with Abraham. He'll be 35 next season but he did have 10 sacks last year. It's a little surprising but I understand.

On the radio they were saying Terrell Suggs has a production company and has rights to a potential movie about Ray Lewis. I hope it never happens. You won't get a balanced biopic from a teammate and friend.

Guess the Jets will continue to be content with mediocre or slightly less than mediocre QBs running their offense.

From the article:

A New Jersey native, Garrard has not played in a regular-season game since 2010 with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He spent last offseason with the Miami Dolphins and was in contention for the starting job before injuring his knee during training camp.

Byrd isn't going to have the option to leave Buffalo. Schefter is reporting he's going to get the franchise tag.

Nope, just out for the season.

Same goes for Mark Brunell. He's still listed as a free agent and he's mentioned retiring last year but it's not official.

But glad Garrard gets another opportunity in the NFL.

The Jets also reportedly have interest in Brady Quinn.

Sanchez, Quinn, and Garrard. Garrard was a solid starter a few years ago, but I don't know how much he has left in the tank and durability is a question mark.

So where does Tebow go after this short stop in New York? Which team do you think will pick him up?

Jerry might do it, it's the kind of flashy controversial move that he loves to make.

I'm not sure if anyone will bring Tebow in as a QB. The Jags are really the only team I could see bringing him in but their new GM has been pretty adamant that they aren't interested. Most teams aren't interested in Tebow because of a belief that he can't run a traditional offense so if you have him on your team you pretty much have to have 2 offensive schemes. If Tebow is willing to move to a different position then someone may be interested in him. New England is brought up a lot as a possible landing spot because Bill Belichick loves Florida players and since Josh McDaniels drafted Tebow but I don't know if they'd want the circus that surrounds him.
