SNF dec 22 flexes in bears/eagles.

Could be a give back to cbs for losing chiefs/broncos earlier this year cause now cbs which has the national doubleheader that day can now feature what had been the snf game patriots/ravens @ 4:25.

That's the only explanation that makes any real sense. Patriots-Ravens will have playoff implications for both teams and is a rematch of the past 2 AFC title games so it makes no sense to flex it out. There's a good chance either the Bears or Eagles will be on SNF in week 17 as well since the Bears play the Packers and the Eagles play the Cowboys and one of those games could be for a division title.

Romo does get a lot of blame that is not warranted but if there is a close game you can always count on him to blow it. It reminds me of the people who criticize P. Manning for not being able to win the big game or play well in the cold. He can't help it if the running backs keep fumbling and he doesn't play on special teams so he can't run into kick offs.

Daniel Snyder won’t intervene in Redskins’ quarterback decision

A person with ties to the organization said late Monday that Shanahan’s announcement about possibly sitting down Griffin appeared to be an attempt by Shanahan to provoke Snyder to fire him this week to avoid such a benching of Griffin. It is believed that Shanahan would be paid for the remainder of his contract, which runs through next season and is worth about $7 million per season, if he is fired but would forfeit the money due to him for the rest of his contract if he resigns.

The details of Shanahan’s contract are not known. But it is believed that the contract gives Shanahan the final say over certain player-related decisions such as picking his starting quarterback. So any attempt by Snyder to intervene in such a decision potentially would enable Shanahan to contend that the contract terms were violated by Snyder, and that possibly could result in Shanahan being entitled to be paid for the remainder of his contract even if he were to resign.

Romo, in the last several years, has phenomenal 4th quarter stats and a whole lot of come-back victories and game-winning drives.

The difference between the Cowboys with Romo, and most teams with high quality QBs, is that the defenses on those other teams are good enough to not have their QB in a position to lose the game every damn week. Compare to Aikman, who's defense would give him a 20+ point lead in the 4th quarter every week, even against good to great teams.

Yes, Romo has bad games. Name a QB who doesn't. Brady, Manning(x2), Brees, Rodgers, Big Ben, they ALL give away big games with bad performances. Romo does not really do so more often than any other QB. But when he does you'd think he's the worst QB in the history of the NFL.

*EDIT* Personally I think Romo should have flipped the Cowboys' "fans" the finger and signed elsewhere. No where else would he get so much unjustified ridicule, and any other team except the Jets wouldn't give him the blame for not winning Superbowls.
