if the cowboys win and the packers win, the snf game becomes meaningless for both the bears and eagles

Part of the problem with flex scheduling is they have to announce the flexed game 12 days prior to game day (with the exception of week 17). In hindsight the best game to flex would have been the New Orleans-Carolina game (which wasn't protected by Fox), but that game could have been relatively meaningless if New Orleans had won this past week and Carolina had lost. Regardless, I'm sure NBC would rather have a potentially meaningless Chicago-Philly game over Carolina-New Orleans because the Bears and Eagles will bring more viewers than the Panthers and Saints would even if the game is somewhat meaningless.

People of Wisconsin, the Packers need you:

Quote:
The Green Bay Packers are looking for help shoveling Lambeau Field field Friday morning.

The Packers say they're look for as many as 650 shovelers. Shovelers need to be at least 15 -years-old and will receive $10 per hour, with payment to be made immediately upon completion of their work. The Packers will provide shovels to all who come to help.

Those interested are asked to meet at the Mills Fleet Farm Gate on Lambeau Field's west side, beginning at 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20, and continuing through the day as needed.

The thing that doesnt make sense though is they said they did this flex to stay within the fox/cbs 3 game spread & so they would then be free to take any game week 17.

But last year the spread was fox 27 games & cbs 22 games.

How come they didnt care about going over the 3 game difference then ?

Can or would NBC want to show the same game twice? Didn't they flex the first Saints/Panthers?

They can.

2011 snf:
week 14 giants/cowboys
week 17 cowboys/giants

This year week 14 panthers/saints had 19.1 million viewers.
Probably wouldve done easy 20+ this week theres really no competition on tv that night & i dont think a meaningless bears/eagles game would get that much.

Obviously theyre gambling that it means something.

Time for the Cowboys to lose another exciting game that they really had no business losing.

It is a very heated rivalry as it always has been. Regard off the records involved, it's a big game. We've had problems selling tickets for years, this isn't a recent development.

Well yeah I imagine up there the Jets, Giants and Patriots are all more popular franchises.

Not so much that. You go anywhere from the Finger Lakes west Canada it's all Bills fans. I'm not sure which team Canadians are fans of. Anything east of the Finger Lakes is either Jets or Giants or both depending on the fan. Once you get past New York state it's virtually 100% Patriots.

Ew, I can only imagine how many new Patriots "fans" have cropped up since 2003 and fans of that nature shouldn't be allowed to cheer for anyone.

Yeah, bandwagon fans of any team are a huge annoyance to real fans.

See i live near the stadium and really don't see the scope of it as all of us have been fans since the beginning. (most of us)

I will keep going to games even when TB and BB are long gone..no matter if they suck or not.
