NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Lions are interested in Chiefs WRs coach David Culley to fill their offensive coordinator vacancy.

Culley, 58, has never been an offensive coordinator at any level. He's currently the assistant head coach and receivers coach with the Chiefs. Previously, he coached the Eagles' receivers under Andy Reid from 1999-2012. In Detroit, Culley would likely be more of a caddy to Jim Caldwell. Another name mentioned by Rapoport for the Lions OC gig is Rutgers OC Ron Prince.

He is a hell of a defensive coach... I admit he is fun to hate... but think he may have learned being such an obnoxious a-hole doesn't help him win games. The extension is a bit a fraud though, he is still coaching year to year at this point.

Yeah but like fate said another 8-8 season like this year and he's as good as gone. His days are numbered in New York unless that offense really starts to improve.

It would be hard for anyone drafting past #5 not to take Barr, he is a beast. I think he's going to have the better NFL career than Clowney. Much better work ethic. I would LOVE for him to slip down to us, but no chance of that happening.

Titans hired ex-Browns DC Ray Horton as defensive coordinator.


The deal will become official on Tuesday. Some contract issues still need to be worked out between Horton and the Browns, but the 53-year-old will be running the show on the defensive side of the ball in Tennessee next season. Horton and coach Ken Whisenhunt have worked together in Pittsburgh and Arizona in the past. The Titans will be making the switch to the 3-4 defense. On paper, Akeem Ayers seems likely to be one of the main beneficiaries. He has plus pass-rush skills and projects to play outside 'backer. Zach Brown could fill the Daryl Washington role at inside linebacker. However Horton decides to employ his players, we do know it's going to be an aggressive, attacking group.

Titans hired Chargers TEs coach Jason Michael as offensive coordinator.


Michael has been an assistant with the Chargers since 2011 and worked alongside new coach Ken Whisenhunt in San Diego this past season. Whisenhunt will be calling the plays in Tennessee, but Michael will hold the title of offensive coordinator and handle the day-to-day activities. One of the younger coordinators in the league, Michael figures to spend this season developing on the job before getting a chance to earn a bigger role in 2015.
