suddenly the Raiders trade looks a whole lot better. They got Schaub to restructure his deal from $10m down to around $7m base. Now there's a bunch of performance based goals to reach his old salary.

A source tells FOX Sports that Terrelle Pryor has asked for a trade.
Quote:
GM Reggie McKenzie, strangely giddy following the Matt Schaub trade, has already informed Pryor that he isn't under consideration to start in Oakland. That didn't sit well. McKenzie confirmed the Raiders will comply to the request by shopping Pryor and then likely releasing him if no partners are found. The raw athlete will attract developmental attention from forward-thinking teams because he can move the chains with his legs

Someone will take a chance on this kid. Very raw, needs a lot of development but he's pretty explosive.

49ers make a lot of sense of DeSean but so do about 7 other teams.
I don't think he would fit in well in SF. He would have to share catches with Crabtree, Boldin, and Davis (and Gore). I don't think he would take a backseat to any of them.

He has potential, but he doesn't have much leverage. I could see the Oakland office guys laughing at him right now.

I don't know how the 49ers could afford DeSean Jackson. For 2014 they only have $4.3 million in cap space and they'll likely need nearly all of that to sign their draft picks, so the only way they could fit Jackson's $10 million salary is by restructuring deals or cutting players. For 2015 the 49ers have a slew of free agents, including Colin Kaepernick, Michael Crabtree, Mike Iupati and Glenn Dorsey. If Kaep has another good year he'll likely be looking for a huge deal, and Crabtree will likely be looking for top 5 receiver money.

It takes roughly 2 million to sign a draft class and then teams like to have extra money for possibly injuries during the season. I don't see how they can afford him either, but I didn't think the Saints would sign Byrd to 6/54 when had they had 2 nickels in cap space.

Players asking to be cut don't have much leverage, because they're asking to be cut.

Again..it's PFT.

A league source tells Profootballtalk.com that Terrelle Pryor requested a trade during January's Senior Bowl.
Quote:
So FOX Sports' report of Pryor's trade demand isn't breaking news inside the NFL. Pryor in January "had decided that the time had come" to ask out of Oakland, after being demoted on the depth chart in favor of Matt McGloin. PFT suggests the Browns as a possible suitor. Pryor turns 25 in June. He has a cheap salary and dual-threat talents, and should generate light interest.

I didn't really look into 49rs cap space so if they're broke then I'm sure Djax wouldn't work there. I remember hearing the 49ers like Crabtree (or it could've been Harbaugh) so I don't know why they'd go for Djax if they plan to keep him after getting Boldin for 2 years who is a very serviceable #2.

I hope they drop him so every team can have a fair playing field. A lot of teams would be in on him if he did get dropped

Teams that want Jackson can probably get him for less than $10.5 million once the Eagles release him without giving up draft picks. It's very clear at this point that he will not be in Philly for this coming season. Seeing as his personality can be very challenging to manage, I can't see him getting a huge contract on the open market. If the Eagles can't find a trade partner, they are just going to release him. He doesn't want to be an Eagle, and they obviously have no intention of trying to make things work between the two parties.

This picture of Jim Kelly and his daughter is both heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports free agent Mark Sanchez plans to sign with the Eagles.

--

Broncos coach John Fox stated on ESPN's NFL Insiders Monday that Denver is "definitely" open to re-signing free agent Knowshon Moreno.

Quote:
This has become more and more clear as free agency has progressed. The Dolphins are the only team to have shown interest in Moreno to this point, and he left his Miami visit without a deal. Moreno stated publicly in February that his preference is to re-sign with Denver. As other NFL teams do not envision Moreno as a starting-caliber talent, the Broncos remain his ideal landing spot. He'd get another chance to hold off 2013 second-round pick Montee Ball for carries.

The RB market has been really soft. It's been speculated that Moreno is waiting to see where MJD lands.

I'm surprised by this. I would have thought the Rams would have made a lot more sense since he'd have a lot better chance to start if Bradford struggled coming back from his torn ACL.

It's funny to think that if Matt Barkley had declared for the 2012 draft he likely would have been a first round pick, but by staying in school he dropped to the fourth round in 2013 and after a year the Eagles still don't trust him to be the backup, instead bringing in another USC quarterback.

We have 12 picks in the Draft. That's the most I remember us having in awhile. I thought we would get a 5 and 3 6 rounders in compensatory picks. Pleasantly surprised we received a 4th.

We have 3 4th rounders. We can spare one for Desean.

Baltimore got a 3rd 2 4ths and a 5th. That's a lot of compensatory picks.

Their greed and need to change rules that have made NFL top dog will be it's downfall. From the stupid fines to no KO sooner or later...it will ruin the game

Atlanta should have gotten more for losing Grimes. I know salary, games played/snaps are part of the equation, but contribution should be taken into consideration as well. Grimes was our best defensive player last year.

I would have to see how it's structured, but to me it is a bad contract considering the Jets don't have a good QB in place. You can argue Vick, but he was not on the radar at the time of that contract.

If a team with a good QB in place signed him to that same contract, I would have said it was a good deal. I just get the feeling Decker is average at best on a team without a elite QB.

Would've been better off drafting one... Even in the 2nd round there will be guys likely better than Decker.

I don't fully disagree with Cuban, but he's completely wrong about one thing. He makes it sound like the NFL is considering Saturday games during the college season, but not only is the NFL not considering Saturday games, they legally cannot have Saturday games during the college football season. It's part of the Sports Broadcasting Act of 1961 which gave the NFL the right to sell the league's TV rights as a league wide package. The new TV deal has some late season Saturday games, but they've had Saturday games late in the season off and on for years.

I also think that Cuban would buy an NFL team in a heartbeat if he could afford one and if the NFL's cross-ownership rule didn't prohibit him from owning the Mavericks and an NFL team in a different market, since under the current rules the only NFL team Cuban could own while he owns the Mavericks is the Cowboys, and they'll be owned by the Jones family for a long time.
