You may be right. With no guaranteed money in 2015 the Jets will have no incentive to keep him if he underperforms or has a bad attitude.

I think he got pretty lucky there. Obviously not as much as he wants, but still more than almost any other team would've given.

Lol

OUCH

That's actually too harsh if you ask me. I think Walter took CJ in the 1st round in fantasy the last three seasons.

He's way off by saying CJ is bad in pass protection. He has actually been a great pass blocker, which was a surprising bonus.

I also don't think CJ is necessarily a terrible teammate or a locker room distraction. Every single Titan that was interviewed after CJ's release had nothing but nice things to say about him. He's never been in any kind of trouble off the field... and he never gets mad. Although I do believe he is easily shaken.

At the very least the Jets got a very durable player. But honestly, he's only durable because he goes down on first contact and never takes the big hit.

He must really hate the Jets to think they'll get a top 2 pick in 2015. After seeing them reach .500 with that abysmal offense, I don't see them doing much worse. I do think it'll be Rex's last year. I think he's a good coach and his players love him, but he has been pretty awful on personnel decisions (draft and FA) IMO... mainly the draft. With the exception of a couple guys, the Jets have drafted no one worthwhile (that I know of) under Ryan. Maybe that's more on the GM. I don't know. But I do know his drafts have sucked.

They haven't all been great, but you make it sound like the cupboard is completely bare. They have rebuilt the whole defence since Rex has been here. The guy they drafted last year won Defensive rookie of the year, pretty worthwhile in my books.

And that's why I said "a couple"... I was referring mainly to Wilkerson and Richardson. Perhaps I should have said "a few" on Coples' behalf as well.

Outside of those players, his drafts have sucked. I'm not sure if you're a Jets fan, but you really shouldn't have a hard time admitting that those drafts have sucked. I just double checked them and they are every bit as bad as I had remembered.

Until about 2010, I considered the Titans to be the worst drafting team in the NFL and wanted to clean house for a long time. It happens. And if it makes you feel better, Whisenhunt's drafts have been equally as bad if not worse. But our GM is solid and will have more say in the picks.

There's a reason Rex's best two seasons were his first two... the impact players were already mostly there. Good coach, bad drafter.

It's the exact same issue with Mike Tomlin. The Steelers are falling apart because he failed to rebuild them. He won the Super Bowl with Cowher's team.

I'd put the odds of DeSean Jackson being bankrupt within 3 years of his retirement at around 98%:

Quote:
n NFL Players Association arbitrator ruled Wednesday that Jackson owes his former agent Drew Rosenhaus $516,415 in unpaid loans and agent fees.

Rand Getlin of Yahoo! Sports reported that Rosenhaus had originally been seeking $777,793 "€œfor loans, interest, credit card charges and insurance premiums."

Black Sports Online reported that Rosenhaus loaned Jackson much of that money in 2011, when the wide receiver was "€œspending recklessly,"€ and that Rosenhaus even allowed Jackson to use one of his credit cards.

Even teams are going enable this crap nowadays. The Jets had to front Antonio Cromartie over half a million dollars when he played there because he was behind on child support to his 12 kids with 8 women.

It's not disrespect, it's evolution of the game. Running backs are a dime a dozen nowadays and in most cases are "done" by age 30. Franchise RB's just don't make championship teams anymore - QB's do. Just look at the Super Bowl winners from the past decade or so. Very few of those teams relied heavily on a superstar RB. The NFL is a passing game.

Dudes have all these millions of dollars, and can't spend so many bucks on a pack of rubbers.

Sounds like Aldon Smith might be done in San Francisco. They have a big decision to make on him.

I think the NFL is going to step in before the 49ers do anything and suspend Smith. My guess is at least 8 games, and it wouldn't shock me if the NFL suspended him for the season even if he hasn't been convicted of anything at this point.

Harbaugh's days may be numbered as well considering his relationship with Baalke. I would assume Brady Hoke is going to be fired after this upcoming season, you would think Michigan will be trying to once again persuade Harbaugh to take the job at his alma mater. Even if he isn't interested, there are many NFL teams that would kill to have him as their coach.

I think Baalke may be in more trouble than Harbaugh. His first three picks as GM were Aldon Smith, Colin Kaepernick, and Chris Culliver and all three have some sort of legal issue right now. In the 2012 draft his first two picks were A.J. Jenkins, a massive bust, and LaMichael James, who has done nothing so far and who will likely be released if the team can't trade him. If it comes down to owner Jed York having to choose between Baalke and Harbaugh I'm not sure he wouldn't choose to keep Harbaugh.
