Dallas gives up first downs 71% of the time in a 3rd or 4th and 1 situation, the Lions score 61% of the time in those situations. Not going for it on 4th and 1 was a huge mistake call or not, as if you go play action on 3rd and 1 and dont get it your ass best be ripe to go for it on 4th and 1 no matter what in a game like that.
This is the most since you've made all day.

Ya, this is going back several years but I'll bet the numbers are similar today. I'm sure Minnesota fell well out of the top-10 because Favre was there back in 2010 and Denver is probably now top-3 or 5 with Peyton Manning. But for the most part the teams listed are the older, more successful NFL franchises. Like them or hate them it's hard to argue Dallas isn't the king of NFL TV ratings.

Eh... I think some of that is controlled a bit by Fox. The Cowboys seem to always be on the 4:35 game when Fox has a doubleheader. Sure, some of that is because they pull in ratings, but it also helps when you're comparing the 50-75% of the nation getting that game versus the 10-20% getting the early games.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports Doug Marrone's head-coaching interview with the Jets over the weekend "did not go well."
Marrone was being talked about as a shoo-in for the Jets' job after he opted out of his contract with the Bills, but it sounds like the head of "St. Doug" may be growing too big for his own good. Per La Canfora, Seahawks DC Dan Quinn is now "well positioned" to land the head-coaching gig with Gang Green. Marrone has also drawn interest from the Bears and Falcons in recent days.

Quote:
A source informed John Middlekauff of 957 The Game Bay Area that Mike Shanahan could be hired as the Bills' general manager with Browns OC Kyle Shanahan as head coach.
We're sorry, Bills fans. This would be brutal. Bills in-name GM Doug Whaley was reported to be leading the search for a new head coach, but it's now been revealed new owner Terry Pegula is conducting interviews. The Bills have requested interviews with as many as 13 head-coaching candidates. The Shanahan duo wouldn't be awful in a head coach-offensive coordinator tandem, but allowing them to make all personnel decisions would be taking a huge leap of faith.

Marrone is a good coach, but it sounds like he is getting really arrogant and demanding about his next gig. He seems to want a lot of control, and I don't know if he is going to get that.

Right now, it's a balmy 0 degrees.
Got out to my truck yesterday after work and it was -9…..sure beats the -17 it was on my way to work!!

I see you’re in De Pere…..i’m in Marathon over by Wausau…..i’m about an hour and a half away from you.

I would expect school to be cancelled tomorrow……a high of -7 with the wind chill being somewhere in the neighborhood of -45.

So just a little chilly.

I was taking the garbage and recycling down to the end of the driveway yesterday morning…..took me about 5 min……my hands were raw by the time I got in the house.

So keeping the kids home from school on days like that I have no problem with. God forbid a bus break down when it’s this cold…..those kids would be screwed. It’s not worth the risk.

What I don't get is how Indianapolis (moved to Chicago-ish 4 years ago) was the coldest city for 2 weeks straight...5 winters in a row. It was colder there than it was in Calgary and Montreal.

Have family in Buffalo(Tonawanda). They, as usual, were getting pummeled with snow, but were 20 degrees not as cold(can't quite say "warmer" when they were still 10 degrees below freezing).

Any chance for a new poll removing the losers from this past weekend and adding the top seeds for this weekends games?

The 12 votes for Steelers, well, whoops...

Thats not really how the ratings work though.
All the games at 1:00 on a network get added together & avg into 1 rating....so example if cbs has 5 games at 1:00 they all get added together for 1 avg.

& if its a non doubleheader weekend then the 1:00 + even the 4:05 game all get added together for 1 avg.

This year the cowboys were in the most watched:
snf game on nbc
mnf game on espn
tnf game on nfln

Cant pin that on fox.

LOL! Nielsen ratings are among the worst statistics in the country. Trust me, my wife used to work for Aribitron until it was bought out by Nielsen and they just laugh at how antiquated Nielsen's technology and processes are.
Everyone in the industry knows Nielsen ratings are far from accurate. The only reason businesses place faith in Nielsen's numbers, is because there is no other ratings game in town. That's it.
Now I'm not saying Dallas doesn't pull large crowds, because they do...but it's certainly not because of the huge fanbase...that honor would go to Pittsburgh and their legion of fan all over the country. Plus a good portion of "Dallas viewers" are watching to see the team implode...which is exactly why Dallas has pulled such good rating over the last 19 years, as they've done a lot of imploding.
