A lot of rookie deals have gotten done over the last couple days, and the only unsigned first round picks are #4 pick Matt Kalil, #5 Justin Blackmon, #8 Ryan Tannehill, #11 Dontari Poe, and #20 Kendall Wright.
Blackmon's deal is the only one that should be complicated because based on where he was picked he should get a fully-guaranteed contract with no, but the team wants to protect themselves in case he gets arrested again. The Dolphins supposedly don't want to give Tannehill a fully-guaranteed deal with no offset money but considering the #7 and #9 picks are fully-guaranteed with no offset it's unlikely Tannehill is going to agree to anything different. |

Blackmon better produce when he plays, but that's really up to the QB. I'm supporting Gabbert 1 more year before I bail on him, that's all I'm going to say
Any news on MJD's contract? He's probably going to hold out until they do. ![]() |

Panthers center Ryan Kalil bought a full-page ad in the Charlotte Observer today explaining why the Panthers win the Super Bowl this season. The ad read:

Just curious, but how much alcohol does one have to consume to blow a .24? I know he probably drank over several hours, but you'd think he had to really have been knocking them back.

Yesterday Jags owner Shad Khan said he is not willing to rework Maurice Jones-Drew's contract, and it's now being reported that MJD will not report to camp.
I'm usually of the opinion that players that are past their rookie contract shouldn't hold out, and while I still somewhat think that in MJD's case I can also understand where he's coming from. MJD is the team's entire offense and he's got a lot of leverage. Without him the team might not win a game. In addition it's not like the Jags are up against the cap, they've got the lowest payroll in the league and are over $25 million under the cap, so it's not like it would hurt them to throw an extra year or two onto MJD's contract and give him a couple million extra upfront. |

^^
I hope Kahn comes into terms with an extension for MJD. I mean what else are the Jags going to use that money for? Dumb FA pickups again? ![]() MJD proved all his critics wrong 2 years ago that he's a full-time RB and an elite on too. I think he has another 2 or even 3 more years before he declines. |
