I finally got around to looking into moving my “Lost” Complete Collection BD discs from the big cardboard fold out sleeves to normal BD cases. Can anyone fill me on the brand and case size for the six “Lost” Blu-ray seasons? My recollection without being at the store at the moment is that at least Season 6 had a different size case (slimmer). Not sure about the other seasons. I want to make sure I have the same size cases that Buena Vista/ABC released so that the original artwork fits properly. Thanks!

Just received 2 Viva Elite blu-ray replacement cases (1-disc & 2-disc) from Casetopia (eBay) for $1.80 + 2.26 s/h. I needed them for Zodiac & Hot Rod from Blockbuster.

I didn't read too far down this thread, but I didn't know people buy from Casetopia. I found out about them on eBay while searching for blu-ray cases. But I'm glad people have on this thread. I think they are a good place to buy replacement cases.

Is that with combine shipping? Thinking that I should buy some. Kept putting it off and I should probably try to get the original cases for select studio.

So does anybody have or know of a list of the type of cases that studios use? I have about 6 movies that need cases. I'll have to go through them to see what studios they are, but wondering if there may be a list so I know how much of which case I need.

It was an auction lot with a 1-disc and a 2-disc case. I was going to order them individually from Casetopia and see what's the combined shipping for those 2 replacement cases, but found out that they sell them combined.

And as far as studios go, I believe:

Viva Elite:

Warner Bros
20th Century Fox
Paramount
Universal
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer

Vortex:
Disney
First Look Studios
Anchor Bay
Sony
Lionsgate

Thanks Chinaman. I'll look into getting the cases I need. Would you happen to know about Dreamworks movies?

Sorry, I currently do not own any Dreamworks movies. However, from the pictures I seen on Amazon, I think it could be Elite, but I'm not too sure.

Hopefully someone here who owns any Dreamworks movies can help you out.

Your list is slightly flawed. Lionsgate uses Viva Elite cases, not Vortex.

Dreamworks uses Viva Elite cases like Paramount does, which is who actually distributes a lot of their movies.

Thanks so much for helping me with this info! I haven’t had to search much in the past for blu cases, but as I anticipated, it’s not so easy with these multi-disc cases. Long story short, is there *any* retail/online source to get multi-disc blu cases with the wider 25mm spine? Even if it’s a 6-disc case and not 7-disc. I just need a case that will fit the artwork for Season 1 and 2 of “Lost.” It looks like finding cases to match Seasons 3 through 6 isn’t too difficult.

So at this point I’m really just trying to figure out if a 25mm spine blu case is just difficult to find, or if it is literally impossible to find.

Thanks!

Well I do my case shopping mostly on eBay, and as far as that goes...you're not going to find a 25mm/7 disc Viva on there.

I'm not too sure about some of the online stores that sell cases, but I would assume it would be just as hard. If anything, you'd probably find a Generic version.

If anyone knows...please post. But roy, that's about as much info I can give you. And you are right, S3-S6 should be relatively easy.

Thanks again for all of your help. Yep, it seems like 25mm cases just aren’t easily found anywhere. My problem is trying to fit the original artwork made for a 25mm spine into a case with a 21 or 22mm spine. I suppose I can just try to make it work. I think my plan right now is to just buy 5 of the 6-disc Vortex cases for Seasons 1 through 5. This would present a problem with artwork for Seasons 1 and 2, and I also would have an extra disc for those seasons to find a home for. But since Seasons 4 and 5 are only five discs each, I would have space in those cases for a temporary home for the stray discs. Apparently the size of the 5-disc or 6-disc Vortex cases are the same, only one has more capacity. Then of course I can find a single Viva 5-disc case for Season 6.

If anybody has any other ideas, let me know. Thanks again!

The only thing that comes to mind for something like a 22mm would be to simply center the spine. A very tiny bit might be wrapped around on both sides, but it'll look relatively close. The smaller you go, the more trouble you'll have of course. And the last resort for something A LOT smaller would be to cleanly slice the coverart on both sides until it fits. I don't recommend doing that, but I know people have.

i really need to buy some new cases. at least 11 of the last 18 blus i've bought have been eco cases and i like the cases that are just two solid pieces and don't have that little plastic piece that sticks out at the top when you open the case. that little bit always seems to break off and it makes the case then look like crap

Can anyone recommend the best case to use to replace my LET ME IN blu-ray? It uses a terrible Eco case and causes the cases to have wrinkles.

http://stores.casetopia.com/StoreFront.bok

http://stores.ebay.com/BluHeaven-Media

I bought cases from the second link. I was fairly happy with my purchase. I am pretty sure I remember reading on here at one point that Casetopia (the first link) shrinkwraps their cases, but they are slightly more expensive. Both sell Viva Elite (Warner, Universal, Fox, Paramount, Summit) and Vortex (Disney, Sony).
