See the dangers of shopping as a blind consumer when product descriptions are so vague? Good thing I didn't order.

Does anyone have any pictures of these racks in use? I would love to see them if you have any you would not mind sharing. There was another post on this thread but that link doesn't seem to work anymore (or the pictures are gone). Feel free to PM or post if you would not mind sharing! Thank you!

Has anyone found any other similar products that are available via internet orders? Unfortunately this item is only available through in store purchas and I need storage just like this, wall mounted and not too deep. I could also use some tall floor standing shelves as long as they are jus deep enough to hold DVD and BD cases since they have to go behind a door if they are not wall mounted. What I have now is shallow like I need with an extended board coming off the base for stability that allow the door to pass over it, but these shelves are too short and are already overfilled with a ton of BDs stackd precariously on the top of the units. Unfortunateley most of the sites don't offer enough description for me to get a good idea of the dimensions (for example most products listed on Amazon) or make it hard to sort through categories or search results. Any suggestions for wall mounted or floor standing storage that meets the depth criteria would be greatly appreciated. If I could find some nice wall mounted storage like these plus replace my two shallow but too short cabinets, my storage woes would lessen considerably.

I think this is the appropriate thread.

I was at Target today and I saw two Fifth Element Blus. Only thing is, one was in a Vortex case, the other in a Viva Elite! I was so confused. I don't think anyone returned it beacuse both were still in their shrinkwrap AND in a keeper box, so anyone know why? Does Columbia do that, use Vortex AND Viva Elite on the same releases?

Does anyone know if the three disc cases have the same spine thickness as the UK Amaray single disc cases?

Reason I ask is because I want to create a three disc set for my Total Recall UK Import and I would like to keep the cover art.

I want to put the US Blu-ray, UK Blu-ray, and get the DVD version with the most extra features.

Sorry for being off topic but does anyone know what Total Recall DVD has the most features?

Where do I post to sell or trade some of my Elite cases? I have 5 x 3-disc, 2 x 4-disc, 1 x 5-disc (Blade Runner fatty) and 11 x 6-disc that I'm looking to get rid of.

Thanks!

The Trading Forum would be a good place.

After you create a thread there (provided you don't have one already), you might also want to post a link to it in this thread in case anyone wants what you're selling. Just a suggestion .

A U.K.-market single-disc BD case will be either a 14mm AGI Amaray or 15mm Viva Elite. The standard U.S. triple-disc BD cases are either the 12.5mm Elite or the 15.8mm MeadWestvaco/AGI Polymatrix Vortex. If the cover insert doesn't fit very well on the Vortex, it might be easier to find a triple-disc 14mm Amaray BD case from a source in the U.K.

I've seen new stock of certain catalog titles from Fox and Universal in the Vortex cases. And Elite brand sometimes used on Sony releases. I guess if they run out of their specific case they use, then they opt for the other style.

WB normally goes with the Elite, but they also have used Vortex.

It's very difficult to photograph, because I have it in a hallway, but hopefully this'll give you some idea.

Thanks, PGW! That was very kind of you to put up a photo. That gives me some idea. Have you liked yours? Any problems? Seems like a neat idea and obviously very inexpensive. Thanks, again!

Really appreciate the reply. It definitely makes sense, but I'm glad I'm not the only who has seen cases (no pun intended!) like this.

So I was just putting a new blu-ray away and discovered a chip in one of my other blu-rays covers. I figured let me google where I can get replacement cases, but then realized wait, why do that, surely there's a thread on blu-ray.com that has a more reliable answer.

Thank you guys for proving me right.

And...

I LOVE these things! My girlfriend and I have 14 up and 7 others we bought and haven't used yet. They are pretty much our DVD/blu-ray storage source, period. They were inexpensive, they don't take up a lot of room, and they are just kind of cool looking.

I was at Walmart last weekend - bought 5th element and resident evil. They had both styles of cases for both releases - also resident evil 2.

If I were you I would simply send it back to Amazon for a replacement...even if you buy a new case you'll still have to wait for it to ship out, not to mention you'll be spending additional money whereas Amazon won't charge you anything. Just my advice
