I'm still having issues where there is no audio coming off of a pause. I have to fiddle with it by rewinding and/or fast forwarding a few times before I get the audio again. Anyone else having this issue? And I would think we are loooong overdue for a firmware update. Last edited by zubinh; 03-10-2020 at 03:30 PM. |

Yes. I usually "fix" it by switching to another audio track and then back again which seems to kick off a new HDMI handshake with my receiver.

EDIT: Discovered that the 9000 CANNOT shut its auto timer function off (how stupid is that?) and it does not have an illuminated power/standby light.

Also...is the UB9000 slated for cancellation, does anyone know or suspect? Should it be around awhile?
I ask because I'm on a wait list with an online vendor for the Pioneer LX500, and they have no idea when that deck is coming back into stock...by the time I wait for it (it's been at least a month it's out of stock), the Panny 9000 could be discontinued, and then there are NO premium players to buy... ![]() ![]() |

We're probably gonna order the UB9000 tomorrow from our Best Buy...
I hope I'm making the right decision. ![]() |

Does anything at the DISPLAY end need to be touched when watching a 4K disc on the UB9000? In other words, I should leave the default HDR settings my Samsung TV goes into, even when using the HDR Optimizer on the player, correct? (that is, Backlight at max, Contrast at max, etc.)

Question for the UB820/9000 community
SClee on a another thread was showing UHD BD media being played with much lower bitrate that what the typical spec. See images under spoiler. Is that normal for his two more reasonable Panasonic players models to be showing? I see UHD BD's being played back usually something between 55 Mbps to 85 Mbps bitrate (combined) most of the time on dual layer, triple layer can go higher. (110 Mbps on some media at times) He uses Panasonic DP-UB391 and a Panasonic DMP-UB300 |

I factory reset it and deep colour is activated on the TV. It's the same for two Panasonic 4K players. I can't tell if it's happening on my new one, BP450 as there is no playback button any more. I've bought a couple of premium HDMI cables (thanks to John's recommendation), I'll see if that works.

Not sure if cables will help, I can imagine you'd get drop-outs if they were the issue. Hopefully they will. Your TV's HDMI inputs are set to enhanced (or is under it under the Deep Colour setting you mentioned?)? |

Geoff owns both players and can certainly compare how this is, others here also own multiple brand 4k players. ![]() |
