Damn, the US version never drops in price much, does it? Here in EU it goes pretty regularly under 300€. Last year it was around 260€ during BF on both Amazon Italy and Spain.

and important information If someone set manually 4K and will be want connect player to 1080p screen than will no image, you need connect back player to 4k screen and change to auto or If you dont have any 4K screen you need to do factory reset using remote..
Sorry, that was basically my implication. If you're connecting the player to a 4K display then Auto is generally fine, but if you want to have a 4K display handle scaling you'd need to output 1080 or 480/576.

If you set up a player to output 4K then connect it to a lower resolution display then most will give Out of Range messages and require resetting or connecting back to the original display.

That's why Auto is generally fine, unless you're after something specific.

I ordered from ABT today for $323. I was on the fence since I have a PS5 but this price was a bit easier to swallow than $400+

Never heard of them, crazy price. I will end up saving more with Amazon because of my 3x credit card points that come back. Now my X700 can go into the dugout for a rainy day. I don't think these players will last at this price very long, even Crutchfield is still $500.

ABT is legit, I previously purchased a camera and a Mac from them

Anyone here from the UK who has a US version of either player? I'm thinking about importing either the UB820 or the UB9000 and changing the plug to a UK 3-pin type. I was wondering if I would encounter any problems doing so, i.e would I need a transformer or something like that or are they basically the same model the world over, just different region coding?

According to the label on the backside, the US model only supports 120V, so you would need a transformer.

Hell of a price. Ordered another one for my downstairs TV.

Why do u wanna do that? Simply get it off The Perfect Signal. Buy a region free UB820 off them.

The only exception is if you're importing the Japanese UB9000 just for MGVC (which is blu ray version of HDR).

I definitely want to go after a 9000 remote. I’d prefer a legit one and not a knockoff as the quality is never the same. Any suggestions? Saw a few on eBay-mostly from China and some missing the HDR button.
Here's the one you really want. I use it on my 820.

I'm after something specific. I set it to 4K for 4K discs.

And, I set it to 1080p for Blu-ray discs so my 4K TV can do the upscaling since my TV does a better job of upscaling from 1080i to 4K.

Do you happen to know if they have black friday sales? I just looked at their website and am very interested in picking up an 820 region free with 3yr warranty from them.

A $100 dollar remote for a $400 disc player seems legit.

Funny that it looks like the PS3 Sony remote to me which is the best remote of all time, maybe it is worth the money

This remote is worth the investment IMO. I have 2 - 820s (one for backup) so I'm confident that it will service both for the duration. It's build is top notch. That probably translates to trouble free / longevity. I'm very pleased with mine.

I just got mine from Amazon. They did *NOT* double-box it. Just slapped a sticker on the regular box. That concerns me.

Normal play for them, sadly. I ordered an $800 DDJ last year and it came the same way, but everything was fine inside. Their saving grace is at least their boxes aren't getting abused by the USPS, it basically goes from the warehouse to the drivers in some cases.

On eBay you can find tons of sellers in China who sell the UB9000 remote for under $10 shipped to the US. Just search for N2QAYA000172 and make sure that the product image shows the "HDR Settings" and "-10s/+60s" buttons. If you pick a seller with a good rating the risk is small. I got one that way for my 820 a couple years back and it works perfectly and is far better than the 820 remote.
