My 420 had a glitch last night. After watching Exorcist III on UHD BD with no issues, I took out the disc and put in the accompanying BD just to check out a few scenes. It attempted to read the disc as the main/home screen blinked away from maybe one second or so before returning. It wouldn't even detect the BD which was odd. I hit play again and it did the same. The disc was spotless. So I turned the player off and turned it back on...and then it played with no problem.
I've had this player since earlier in the year with no issues. I had the 820 for about four years and never had that occur. Hopefully just a a random glitch. |

Just picked up a lovely open box 820. To my surprise, it did not come with a remote. Funny thing is my old Panasonic remote works!
I definitely want to go after a 9000 remote. I’d prefer a legit one and not a knockoff as the quality is never the same. Any suggestions? Saw a few on eBay-mostly from China and some missing the HDR button. |

Make factory reset:
1. Turn the unit OFF if you have (ub820 i ub9000), Turn the unit ON if you have UB420. 2. Press and hold [OK], the [Yellow] button and the [Blue] button on the remote control at the same time for more than 5 seconds. “00 RET” is displayed on the unit’s display. 3. Press [►] right repeatedly on the remote control until “08 FIN” is displayed on the unit’s display. 4. Press and hold [OK] for more than 5 seconds Paid only. |

I had both hooked up to the same TV for a period of time, and would have to press power and eject from the unit itself because doing it from the remote would turn on both players. |

Just jumped on this. At that Amazon price, I had to. What's the best place to check for optimal set-up?
Edit: In case anyone is wondering: $347.99. Even cheaper if you go to ABT Electronics with coupon. Last edited by IndyMLVC; 11-13-2023 at 12:50 PM. |
