Default Paramount Scrapping Special Features on "Cloverfield" Blu-ray?

Even though it seems many on here don't give a damn about bonus materials, I'm sure other fans of this movie out there will be pissed to hear about this if it is indeed true.

It's better to get it out on time, though, once you miss the DVD release date you're screwed, saleswise. This is the right thing for them to do, they can release a version with the special features later.

It wouldnet be so bad if they offered a price break on the half-a$$ version

This is how studio makes money. We see this stuff with today's DVD. They'll make consumers buy the special edition/director's edition/ultimate edition/etc many years down the road.

No biggie....expect to double dip.

I agree. Its in the best interest to release it with the DVD sales wise. But my god it would piss me off if I have to double dip. Isnt there ANY way they can slap on all those special features?

dilemna

release it quick without extras or release it later with extras...
which one would I buy...

it would depend on how long it takes to give cloverfield blu-ray edition the extras it deserves but... first thing I watch is the main movie... but I also like to watch extra features after I watched the movie too

It depends on the nature of them, it's potentially a large amount of work to start writing java code to do the same thing as you had already created with hdi for an hd dvd.

Isn't Cloverfield the last Godzilla movie? I never saw it. Does the monster look like Godzilla or is it actually Godzilla?

Same feeling here. I don't give a damn about the extra's. Just give me the film on blu-ray.

I say they release it on street date even if the extra are not there.

Speaking as a rentailer/retailer, I know they will lose a tremendous amount of sales if it doesn't make the day/date of the DVD. Those of you saying you think they are double dipping....just rent it then. Buy the extra special edition later.

Either way I can't seem them missing the street date. It's very important sales wise to make the same date as the DVD.
