The new film from James Wan of Saw and Insidious comes out this July.
The trailer just looks eh. Kinda sick of the based on a true story or whatever else. Plus I see the loud noises and jump scares are in full effect for this. Everyone tired of these type of movies, or can you not get enough? Last edited by Scottie; 07-31-2017 at 07:16 PM. |

No Patrick Wilson in the trailer? He's such a hottie. I think he and James Wan got something going on. Three films together.
![]() Anyway, interesting trailer. It's only like 3 scenes together, which I love. This will have no problem making back its $13 million budget during its opening weekend. |

I like this kind of trailer, when they show two or three scenes and gives you real feel of the movie, instead of splashy quick cuts commercials. PS: James Wan is from my country. ![]() |

![]() This is our, what, fourth "Daddy-horror" horror movie in the last year, and that's not counting the last Paranormal Activity sequel. Has it finally happened? ARE there no young horror fans under the age of thirty anymore?--And the only people left who still get excited are the thirty-something remains of the teens who used to go see 80's horror movies in theaters, now driving their kids to soccer practice in the station wagons, and hoping they don't meet strangers? (Which is why all the real teens keep wanting to remake Prom Night and Elm Street, just to see them in theaters again?) I thought we'd finally killed off "Mommy-horror", for A-list actresses to live out fantasies of being maternal avengers protecting their children from demons, when "The Invasion" flopped; is it now the daddies' turn, with "Sinister" and "The Possession"? I want to see some decent scares, but I DON"T CARE about finding real estate deals in the suburbs close to the schools! When I was in high school, why on earth would I go see movies about things that would scare my parents? ![]() |

Mommy and daddy horror? Trust me, I'm sure it's not Mommies and Daddies seeing those films in theaters. That depends on their age. But I'm sure the people seeing Insidious, Sinister and The Paranormal Activity series are teens.
While you're at it, i guess Poltergeist is a Mommy and Daddy horror film. I don't really care for the films much, but that seems like it's the era were in. It always cycles back really over the years. Now it's these type of films, and in a few years it'll be another kind of horror movies people are seeing. |

![]() Guess those young upper-middle-class yuppies became middle-age upper-middle-class yuppies, and the new trophy-babies became cute dad-and-daughter fifth-graders haunted by ghosts. Does this mean that by the '20's, we'll have "Night of the Depends" and "Last Independent-Living Care on the Left", while some young filmmaker goes out and does a flashy "reboot" of Cabin in the Woods out of frustrated nostalgia? ![]() Last edited by EricJ; 02-28-2013 at 02:10 AM. |
