You mean Contact with Jodie Foster ?
I might get it but I'd have to sell my DVD of it. But it being a nice movie I might just do that

No, I'd skip this one. I don't find this movie good enough to buy, in my opinion.

Oh yeah truly an epic classic movie. I mean if we had to pick one movie out of all the great classics from the many years of cinema to own on Blu-Ray.

Indeed contact stands head and shoulders above them all

Yeah.... this thread is stupid and how old is the original poster

I watched this movie when it first came out on DVD. It was loaded with extras. Still, the movie was, IMHO, so boring that I didn't bother to check on the extras. That's not even the main point, I just wanted to mention that this was probably the first DVD released ever with that many special Features.

Aside from that the movie is boring and it's conclusion is disappointing. I will definitely not buy the BD.

I didn't understand Contact the first time that I saw it, so I tried watching it again a few weeks later and I loved it the second time around! So I'll definitely get Contact on Blu-ray!

Thumbs up Contact on Blu-ray? YES Please!!!

Oh, god yes! I've been thinking of this movie ever since they did a segment on SETI on last weeks "NOVA: Science NOW" where they interviewed the lady that Jodie Foster's character (Ellie Arroway, just pulled out my DVD copy to check, will probably watch it again now!) was based on. My only quible with this movie was that they seemed to alter it a bit from the original vision that Dr. Carl Sagan had (have not read the book myself, basing this on what I've heard of the book and what I know of the man) even though he and his wife (Ann Druyan (not sure if the spelling's right)) were involved in the making of the movie. Still, great film, especially the opening. I first saw it in a 750 seat (large) movie theater that was THX certifiied (back when that meant something) and was worried for a minute that the audio system had gone down, untill the sound kicked in and almost gave me a heart attack (now THAT'S dynamic range)! It was nice to see a film that required you think, unfortunately that also limited it's appeal to those who would pay attention, and lot of people did not 'get it'. I will most definetly pre-order this movie once they get around to announcing it, preferably with a really good audio and video transfer and encode, and plenty of extras!!!

Default Speaking of Carl Sagan...

The feeling amongst people like Sagan was that there had to be life out there because there are so many stars in our galaxy and so many galaxies, etc.

Well, read this:
