It would not load the movie correctly on my player until I allowed the movie to connect to the Lionsgate BD-Live site and allow it to update the movie.

I have never seen this before. I have the Skynet T2 movie and when it asked to connect I selected cancelled and it would still load. This was different.

How do we "allow" it??

I tried it with BD LIVE "on" and "off" = same thing; a crappy tiny square in the center of the TV. I'm bringing the movie back

I just had to put my SD card back in and it played Crank2 movie fine, otherwise with no card in blu-ray player it only shows a portion of movie in a tiny small box on screen. no eula issues for me but they probably are already installed on the SD Card.

Did you eject your Crank and stick it back in?

The only BD that I have that had "hang time" was Braveheart. It only happened the first time I loaded it into my PS3 (note: I have BD-Live disabled). Once I reloaded it, the movie played fine.

I went through all of the usual trouble shooting steps. It would not load until I allowed it to do what ever update THE MOVIE wanted. It was not the player wanting to do an update it was the movie. Really strange. Once I allowed the JAVA to update, the previews then menu would fill the screen.

Thought you would never ask that question did you. Eject your Crank and stick it back in.

I wouldn't feel too bad, your intent was to warn others. How was the movie, I've heard it's quite "different." But I guess that's expected when the character comes back to life after falling out of a helicopter high in the sky.

I've only read the first page but I can't believe how rude people were being to the OP.

I didn't have any issue getting it to play on my ps3 but I agreed to their EULA right away not knowing there could be an issue if you don't. It does however play very sluggish! I had to hit fast forward 3 times to get it to go at 10x. Then it takes a few seconds to recognize I've pressed pause or stop. It's a great movie IMO and the PQ is outstanding, but these issues are still disappointing.

Thx for that but my original post was alot more offensive to Lionsgate before I edited my post. I should never PWA (Post While Aggravated) again.

It appears that this problem disc will not load on certain 2.0 profile players unless you use an external memory card.

All 1.0 and 1.1 profile players such as the Panasonic BD-30 or Sony's BDP-300 or 500 will not have a problem because they can not use BD-Live.

All players that are 2.0 profile that have built in memory i.e. PS3 or the OPPO 83 will not have this problem.

Hope this helps anyone who wants to watch Crank 2. And maybe you will not do what I did and PWA.

BTW the bass in this movie is its only saving grace.

Please see my orginal post on page one that explains how to get this movie to load.

This is all the studios need to do: Put a banner on the back cover "External or internal memory needed for this movie to load correctly."

Sounds like nobody should make a 2.0 profile player without memory.. lame.. stupid to require people to buy and plug in a memory card for something that should just have memory internal..

Ancient PS3's can have fan noise.. newer ones from the last 2 years or so do not make noise. Gets old seeing people post about fan noise when most do not have any noise.

Picked up Crank 2 today and remembered seeing this thread so I thought I would check in and confirm the problem is someone has a Blu Ray player that IS NOT a PS3.

Whew... another close one.
