I am having issues with Terminator 2 and the playback on my HP Pavilion's dv7-1175 nr lap top blu-ray player on the playback. The disc works fine menus and all except when I play the movie back it seems as though the video cant keep up with the action, it is as almost it is having hicups during playback (it will freeze during intense umm fast moving action scenes then all of a sudden catch up). I have had minor issues with this and a few other discs but it is rare. I took my first copy back a day after buying it and exchanged it for another copy of T2 and it is doing the same thing. I updated my copy of Quickplay last night to version 3.7. I don't want to trouble Bestbuy again so I'm coming to you guys for help? PLEASE

Check whether firmware upgrades are available for the blu-ray drive. If it is a new laptop, it is worth checking with the retailer since it could be a hardware issue. |

Ok I tried the Cyberlink Power DVD trial version and the problem is actualy worse. I own over 50 Blu Rays and rarely run into this problem and when I do it is in much smaller spurts. Funny how the issue seems to be on certain disks over others hmm. I played Crank last night all the way through and it played fine and the action in that movie is fast to say the least. I do agree on the my hardware can't keep up the with playback that you brought up (I'll try to see if the issue continues if I use my HDMI cable to run it through my tv later). I never intended to buy a Blu-Ray player when I bought my lap top, but i fell in love with the format after renting a few movies and I am now hooked lol. Maybe this will motivate me to buy a real Blu-Ray player in the future. Until then I will try the Power DVd trial on my other Blu-Ray discs to see how it matches up with Quickplay. Anybody else have any suggestions on my T2 playback issue?

Yes, try in the PC section. Also check whether you could get any firmware upgrades for the drive.
T2 works like a charm on the PS3 - no problems. I haven't heard of any complaints about T2 either. It is a possibility that you have a faulty disk. Any possibility to try the disk in another player? |
