There have been a few reports of this with different players (Panasonic and Sony) and I believe the consensus on a fix has been external memory. The movie updates itself before playing, and for some reason, must have external memory to run properly. If you have a thumb drive in the house, plug it in to the back of your player and give the disc another try.

That is what I did. I rented mine and when I came home it played fine in my PS3, but when I wanted to finish watching it in the bedroom(the sony s350) I had the same problem as most.

I bought a 1gig thumb drive for it along time ago and been to lazy to plug it in, until this problem happened.

I have the same problem with Crank 2 - every other Blu-Ray will work. I think its the players fault and hopefully a future firmware update will fix it.

In the meantime I just used my PS3 to view it.

So did the thumb drive solve the issue?

This solution worked for my BDP-S350.

I have a Sony BDP-S300 and Crank 2 High Voltage will not play!

I have returned the disc to Target three times (two different stores) thinking that would help....no.

The Sony BDP-S300 does not have an input for a SD Card or USB stick....any advice or useful suggestions would be greatly appreciated my friends.

Can't take it back for my money or store credit because of the video piracy rules/laws once the disc is opened....more crap!

Your problem could be firmware related. Since the S300 is Profile 1.0, the downloading of additional software that is affecting other players shouldn't be a problem for you. That's why I think you have a firmware problem.

I have Version 4.90 loaded, that is the latest firmware available for that model, as far as I know.

Then Sony may need to release a "4.91" or something like that. I know that when the T2 Skynet Edition release came out, I couldn't play it on my player at the time. I had to wait for Pioneer to release an update, which took about a week-and-a-half. You may need to be patient.

Default Fix for Crank2 High Voltage not playing correctly from Sony

I was instructed to add a 1MB USB Flash Drive to the EXT location on the rear of the Sony BDP-S350 player. That solved my problem and I am about to watch the movie....oh yeah!!

Thumbs up 1GB SD Card fixed tiny screen/ disk load issue on Panasonic DMP- BD655!

Once I put in a SD card in the front, an update specific to Crank 2 came up, and I downloaded it. It went to the SD card automatically and fixed the issue, thanks!
