Not really Criterion news but looks like Uma Thurman has completely changed her look... for the worst I get its her body to do what she wants but she was fine before - Its like Renee Zellweger all over again!

Giulietta degli spiriti: It is only a matter of time before it is released on Blu-ray. In the meantime, if you really like the film, you should pick up the Noveaux Pictures R2 DVD release, which is vastly superior to Criterion's R1 DVD release. It is from the more recent Italian restoration. (A new 4K restoration for a Blu-ray release, however, will be even better).

This is the Nouveaux Pictures release:

p.s.
Looks like we don't have a DVD profile for it in the database. I will have to create one (Edit: OK. I added a new profile).
That's a nice looking cover, thanks for sharing the picture and the info.

And a quick question about the DVD profiles... I've found that a have a few dvds that don't have profiles here. Some are promo dvds, but others like the movie Jaded (http://www.amazon.com/Jaded-Carla-Gugino/dp/B000038I1C) don't appear when I look to add them to my owned discs. Sine you mention you added them, is there a place we can send requests to add movies? Just curious. Thanks Pro-B!

That's the great thing about blu ray. Your favorite stars stay young and beautiful forever.

Default In non-Criterion Collection related news:

Pre-orders for Spielberg's Duel (as well as 1941, The Sugarland Express, and Always) are now available on Amazon.

Link for Duel:

Also, I currently own 496/1000 of the TSPDT titles in blu-ray format.

There is a streaming HD version of this available through Ultraviolet retailers. Unfortunately, for whatever bizarre reason, they are streaming the English dub rather than the original Italian audio.

She looks completely different to how she looked recently, this isn't just her aging lol

This is her last March:

Everyone has imperfections. Actresses must suffer from some sort of unique cinematic mental disorder that they must do everything possible to alter their bodies so they look good on screen. Plastic surgery does not create perfection though... and when will people realize that aging is part of life.

It's a shame they didn't see fit to include the original TV version. This would have been day 1 for me if they did. As it is, I'll wait for it to show up in the bargain bin.

I have to agree with you, Polaroid. If you hadn't told me who she was, I would never have recognized her. Her eyes look completely different ...

The other picture she has no eye make-up on at all. So when one is use to someone with it on all the time and then you see them with out it they look different. That's probably all it is.

Like others said, it's her choice and she looks great in both pics to me, but I never got the big deal with Reese's change either. Like Kaley Cuoco haircut -- why does it bother everyone else (or lots of others) since people get haircuts and change hairstyles constantly.
As I said it is there choice. Its just very personal for me as I see this stunning woman and see them make a drastic change that ruins it. I have many body issues myself and I would love to change how I look (much like this actors!) but when i see how beautiful they are I find it really sad they can't be happy.

I am genuinely ugly though so its not that hypocritical for me to make a comment on them, but I just find it sad they are not happy with how they look and have to change it for them, or even for other people. Oh well!

I’ve seen 236 (roughly.) A few that jumped out at me when going through the list… Groundhog Day is one of the 250 greatest films of all-time?! Really? Relative to other Hitchcock films, Marnie is EXTREMELY high. …and CC related: Bresson’s L’Argent is in the top 150! Cool. CC has the rights. Streaming on Hulu. Maybe a blu-ray in the future for this title or Au Hazard Balthazar.

I'm with you on the Bresson's, and am sure we'll see all his films on blu at some point from CC or other distributors, but this aggression for Groundhog Day will not stand.

L'argent is one of those canonical classics that you'd expect to find in the Criterion Collection but for some reason hasn't been released yet. Did someone else release it in the US on DVD? It's a strange omission.
