I'm actually wondering if Costco would carry the Del Toro Trilogia as well. They do like selling box sets there.
I have never seen a Criterion disc at a Costco.

I have.

I even bought a few there on occasion. But that was years ago. Lately I haven't seen any Criterion at Costco.

I have two near my home; one gets them quite regularly, the other gets them a little more sporadically.

The three releases for next week are now all in-stock and will be included in any potential sale or offer.

I haven't either, but that's only because I haven't had a Costco membership in ages (there isn't one close enough to where I live to make it worthwhile).

I do, however, have a BJ's membership. The only Criterion I ever saw at BJ's was Stagecoach. Why that one, and only that one, I have no idea.

Nice, this usually happens later in the week, maybe they are preparing for a sale some other day this week after all

Does anyone know what B&N coupons would work during the November sale time?

That's hard to say but they seem to have short memory and it has greater chance of working at the beginning of the sale, so one strategy could be 'do not wait' and if it still works during Black Friday...return/rebuy (if needed)...

If Criterion had their flash sale yesterday, I would have purchased six titles. Now, I might as well just wait until the B & N sale on 11/1 and save an extra $12 plus (six assumed 20% off coupons - the eventual 10% back I'd get from Criterion). In-store, the savings will be even more.

I'll pay the extra $12 and get my purchases done, well packed, and shipped pristine from Criterion. I like a bargain as much as the next guy, but I don't mind spending a *little* more for the ease and efficiency of the Criterion.com flash sale.

Spotted on Reddit, for what it's worth:

Quote:
he confirmed to me that the 'Before Trilogy' was coming very soon and that they were waiting until 'Boyhood' made its rounds before shelling it out
also said 'Multiple Maniacs' is coming soon and they will be including a short movie by the director on the disc
music videos of Lana Del Rey will be released around the time of her next album which will be early to mid 2017
'The Circus' is coming by the end of the year and a reissue of 'Nanook of the North' as well as something by the director of 'Salo' which title I don't remember

Music videos of Lana Del Rey?!?

I can think of way cooler videos to release under Criterion, and I like her music.

Hell, if Criterion released Lemonaide I would lose my s**t.

Same, to be honest. In my case, it'd be to save gas, time (30 minute drives) and money (gas and taxes). And if I were to order from BN.com, I risk damaged items which require similar circumstances (go to store, hope they got it, etc etc) to get replacements for. I'd take Criterion flash sales over B&N sales given the choice.

I've got a B&N question for you members. I got a membership about a year and a half ago to take advantage for some bulk Criterion purchasing. While it was nice to get the extra 10% off, I felt like I wasn't getting member coupons to warrant paying for the membership again. I'm pretty sure I only received coupons in the mail once or twice at the most and never received anything via email. I emailed customer service and never heard anything back and used my online account to confirm that my email was correct.

Is this normal or do others receive stuff more often?

I became a member in July and the only coupons they've sent me was the new member welcome email.

I regularly get coupons in the mail but never by email. I called customer service but the email issued never got resolved. You can always print coupons that are available in the Deals forum.

Here's a story:
Back in July, I pre-ordered McCabe & Mrs. Miller on bluray with the 50% off, 20% snail mail coupon, and my 10% membership. I waited for a couple weeks and it didn't ship. I found out that the release date was changed. I called B&N and they told me just to wait to see if it ships at the new release date. I called yesterday after checking the order and noticing it's still processing. Customer service at corporate told me that the order would not be shipping because of low inventory even though I had already paid for the item in-store in July. My only option given to me was to cancel the order and get my money back. I called the store where I ordered it and the manager was nice enough to set a copy to the side for me and give me the 50% off, 10%, 20%, and an additional 20% off for the inconvenience. So the total came down to only $14 and some change.

I figured I'd post this here just in case this happened to anyone else. Of course, this'll depend on the manager you speak to.

Maybe my thinking was backwards. Maybe they specifically want to have the sale the same day Filmstruck launches to celebrate the launch?
